Just looking at my COSC.....In the left corner is a shield and cross with Breitling S.A.
overlaid. Does this mean it came from South America :?:

Is this a serious question? If so, then yes, all Breitlings are made in South America now. I've seen the odd Breitling I, but the quality out of India just hasn't been up to par so I don't think this will be be too common going forward.

You know the entire world doesn't use English.

S.A. is French for Societe Anonyme (sorry for the French speakers, no accents on my keyboard :| ). It's the equivalent of Inc, Ltd, PLC, etc.

Thanks...I knew it was a "grey market "watch and I didn't know if it wasn't recorded by continent serial numbers and COSC.
Does that make sense?

COSC certificates issued by Breitling are the same globally - the certificate is issued to the movement before it is cased up in Switzerland.

And to you sir....No place do I say made in South America....I asked a simple question and you were simply an ASS...

...and especially with all those faces after your question I thought your question was a tongue-in-cheek joke.

I have to admit that i've always been vaguely curious about the S.A but never enough to ask or google it. So this thread has had its uses!

Merci, Roff. You are one of the primary reasons why I visit this site on a daily basis.

Thanks for all your intelligence.
