Nice one, I have told her it would look better if it had at least been worn for a little while but sadly she won't believe me and it is now locked away with my own Breitlings. I must admit that after having just sold my Chronospace I am quite impressed with the size and weight and may have to look for something similar but with bracelet and not strap...my chronospace had brown leather and boy do they smell at times :-)

I have on rare occasions sold a watch for more than I paid for it. However, that is most often with deeply discounted brands where I have gotten an incredible deal. It is much harder to do that with luxury brands.

Keep in mind that if you use Ebay and Paypal you need to cover those fees of around 10-12% (total).

Good Luck and I wish you well! As mentioed, the worse that can happen is you have a new watch!

Stop comparing this to a bank as the bank is no risk on your money, hence why the rate is so low. Have you calculated your risk? What if you end up losing 10% on this (probably more) as everyone else has shown you, then you can compare this to an equity investment, maybe one that pays a decent dividend and you get the appreciation of your capital, but then you also risk the stock price falling. This is just 1 out of about 10 aspects of your thought process which is extremely flawed.

Reading the last few posts everyone thinks you're wrong and we're trying to save you time and money and your ignorance has led you to get upset at us instead of a simple "thank you". If tons of people have looked into this before, why are you able to do what others can't? There are 100,000's of Breitlings produced every year, this isn't some kind of rare collectible, particularly the watch you are looking at.

And like I said, if this is so lucrative then go for it and stop wasting time with a lousy £2,000, if someone wanted to give me a 10% return that's great but it's not worth my time if that return is only £200. So go buy up 10 or so Breitlings, and get some LE's and really expensive ones then your return will be more overall dollars/pounds - spend £50,000 and you'll easily earn £5,000 right? You seem to know the market better than all of us here, let alone your own local AD.

All posters have been constructive and polite...except you. Either your piles are playing up or you have another problem on your plate but why be so nasty? Forums are supposed to be friendly but you obviously haven't quite sussed that out yet have you?

You must be one hell of a nice guy...NOT! :nana:

1) Even though I am a nobody, I am right here and you are wrong. More importantly there are senior members of the board here who also disagree with you but yet you apparently are smarter than all of them.

2) You're welcome.

Gentlemen....

At the top of every section of this forum is a topic entitled 'Forum Rules - Read this first!'

In there it says.....

"Name-calling and insults are childish and will not be tolerated." as well as

"Respect your fellow posters! Not everyone is the same as you or has the same opinion as you, so please try and be open-minded. Respect other people's opinions and they will respect yours."

That's not happening and if it continues then warnings will be issued.

My mistake as I am sure hers is the Avenger and the book price was £4300 or thereabouts so it must be the standard Avenger.

I reckon she stands a good chance and will keep you updated when she decides to sell it on. I still reckon that she stands to sell in the next few months for around £2200 making herself 10%...even if she sells at £2100 she has made herself 5% which is more than she would have got letting the money sit in the bank.

Good luck. If I were you I'd be praying it didn't work out. The conversation would be -

W - I'm sorry Darling, but it looks like we will lose a little money on this Breitling.

H - Well Honey it was a good try. I am very impressed with your efforts.

W - Now what do I do with this silly watch??

H - It will be hard, but I suppose I could get used to wearing it. Anything for you Sweetie.

W - I have the BEST husband!!

And THAT, ladies and gentlemen is why a the Sharkman is a lawyer! Sharky, i recently purchased a Richard Mille RM056 Split-Seconds Chrono-Tourbillon, encase entirely in sapphire. (Retail Price: $1.65 Million US.) Can you help me chat with the wife about it?

I don't mean to go off topic here but as a newbie to Breitling Source one of the things I've really enjoyed over the last few months as a member is that it's a safe environment to ask a question that many of the Breitling Guru's here might consider borderline rediculous but still answer in a respectful way.

The result is I look forward to logging in and I keep asking questions so that someday I might be able to answer a question for someone else. If I would have been chastised for asking basic questions or spoken down to, I likely would not have remained a member. ...and certainly wouldn't have purchased 3 additional Breitlings over the 6 months since I first joined after my Navi World purchase.

Make sense Pkeung? It's cool to treat everyone well so our community grows and remains enjoyable for rookies and gurus alike. We rookies sincerely appreciate it.

Hi I thought I would venture into this discussion , Watches make excellent investments you just have to understand the market fully before dropping your hard earned money down . For example Breitling while being a wonderful watch ( I own 6 now ) . They have never commanded a premium as a used watch even the small batch LTD's seldom garner a percent increase once they have left the AD. I am curious how Breitlings with in house movements will do in the future .

If you watch the Auctions and fully understand what is desirable at any given time you will know that Patek Phillipe and Rolex and a few other brands are strong ones to invest in . The Asian market is the target what they want will always pay as an investment .

BTY I'm a friendly from Vancouver , that has over 30 years buying and selling watches as one of my paying hobbies. That being said if you can get a super deal on a watch that people want to buy used buy it .
