Three others I forgot to mention: Victorinox Swiss Army, Luminox and Traser.

All three brands offer a number of military dial models (24 hour numerals), plus Luminox and Traser watches have tritium markers like the Marathons.

And yes, they're in your price range, or reasonably close to it.

Thanks sooner!!! I've looked at the victorinox swiss army stuff. I'll check out the others.

Sorry sharkman. That is a gorgeous watch and I do like the history that the ball's have in the industry. unfortunately it has the minute markers.. not the hour markers... something that the companies up here are super stringent about. they want numerals not battons (or else I could wear my Super avenger if I REALLY wanted to) also it's a little pricey for a daily work wearer. Maybe in about 10 years or so when I'm on an easy route or somewhere where I won't damage it as much.. (and by then I'll probably end up with the 'ling SO) but being a greenhorn in the industry I'm sure I'll be doing more grunt work at first. Wouldn't want something so nice to be subject to the dirt. THanks for the suggestion though. I will definitely add one of these to the collection when the opportunity allows me.

I see some Marathon models have already been suggested. You might check their website and see if anything strikes your fancy. There are definitely some economical alternatives there, such as the WW194013.
