I don't hear anything but faint ticking from my Navitimer World, when holding it still.

That’s not what we are discussing here ‘wrangler’.
Of course, you are not going to hear any noise when the watch is hold still.
I’m talking about holding the watch near your ear and vigorously wiggle & twist it for 3-4 seconds so you can hear the movement.

:huh ?
I addressed that earlier, as you know.

***
I was responding to your post below, merely pointing out that the sound I heard when moving my watch was not present when I stopped moving it. It was not "continuous", but rather, stopped immediately.

Thanks ‘sharkman’.
You put my mind at ease to some degree.

If I have to rate them according to the roaring sound, I would say:
1st: World
2nd : Datora
3rd: Evo (chronomat 13)

What’s interesting, the roaring sound on the above three models are ‘continuous’ and last much longer than B01 and Bentleys.
On B01 & Bentleys the roaring sound stops quickly and is quiet as whisper!!

Well, I wasn't sure what he meant by "continuous" in reference to the loud noise.

OK let me explain in more detail.
By ‘continuous’ I mean when you vigorously twist & wiggle the watch near your ear, the loud sound of the 'rotor whirring' last for a long period of time (5-7 sec) compare to B01 or Bentleys which the rotor whirring last only 1-2 seconds and it is very quiet.

No expertise here but... I have the World as well and if I rattle the watch I get the noise you're describing however It normally doesn't last very long unless I'm holding the watch at just the right angle which appears to make things move for a few more seconds. I can also feel the weight of the oscillating wheel spinning (I think that's what it's called!). All makes it very interesting IMO. I don't think it's anything to worry about.

Hi everyone,
My Navitimer World movement seems to be much more noisier than my other Breitling watches i.e, Datora, B01, Bentley GMT & Motor .

When I quickly shake & wiggle the watch near my ear, there is this continuous roaring sound which is very obvious (similar to a rotating metal plate) which btw remindes me of cheap chinese replica movement. (I bought my Navitimer from a AD in Los Angeles). If I do the same thing with my other Breitlings, I don’t get the same roaring sound. They are noticeably much quieter.

I wonder if other Navitimer World owners can confirm this.

Thanks,
Sal

Yes - the watch does this, and yeah, it made me nervous when it did it at first, but now I kind of like it.

Thanks for clarifying this for me ‘BR’.
That is exactly what I’m trying to describe.
And yes you are absolutely correct. You have to hold the watch at just the right angle to hear the wheel spinning noise or as ‘sharkman’ described it the rotor whirring sound.
I just did another test on my World and the noise lasted approximately 6 sec.
I wonder if yours also last that long if you give a good snap and holding it at the right angle? Also how would you rate the noise (is it loud)? By loud I mean quite noticeable.

I surely can't hear anything at arms length. It just makes more sound than my CSO near my ears.

No, this time I am serious, I thought something was broken in it.

The spinning doesn't last long under "normal" circumstances, I would imagine that if one should make it spin it could go for a couple more seconds. Its not that loud but I guess if I suspected that something was wrong it would probably scream at me  I wouldn't worry about at all but you could always get checked at your nearest AD for reassurance.

As sharkman addressed about 20 posts ago it's because of the unidirectional winding. Keep testing it by shaking it and soon enough it'll stop when the winding mechanism breaks!
