Additional info from the inside: It's all so tiny, I can't get my camera to catch it.

17 JEWELS
SEVENTEEN
SWISS

and deeper inside it says 7750 (I Think)...

On the inside of the case back it says: BREITLING SWISS CASE

We feel the same! I think the watch is real but a little bit of a franken piece in that the dial and sec hand are from a later Chronomat model (x13050). As Vintage pointed out, the caseback is a bit worrying though.

I did consider that the watch might actually be an x13050 but with a wrong/fake caseback. But the font on the date wheel is correct for an x13047

Interesting thread.

I still think, as I originally did, that the head is real. It simply looks too good to me to be a fake.

However, based on my knowledge of old Chronomats, which is based largely on Altro/Alan Trott's article on WUS (to whom acknowledgement is given), it looks more like a 13048 than a 13047 dial/hand set. Did they do guilloche dials for the 13048?

I'm not 100% convinced the case back is original. Maybe a fake (or even gen) 13047 case back was used on a genuine head?

Good to read the movement is a gen 7750. I don't think any of the fakes I've seen from this era had working chronographs, at least not 12/60/30.

Very confusing. I guess the acid test is if you send it to Breitling for servicing.

I will probably send it to Breitling with another watch I am planning to send for service sometimes net month, so they can give me a quote on this one and at the same time check it out. I doubt I want to spend $600 for servicing this piece though.

No, don't think I'd be tempted either.

the dial is surely NOT a 13047 but 13050 an it's REAL.
the caseback is surely not a back for a 13050 and it's a FAKE for my opinion.. too bad and never seen one like that.
again this is guilloché dial, and Breitling started to do guilloché dials with 13050.
also, the movement is not a movement for a 13050 quilloché serie.

it's fake also the bracelet to me.

a sort of franken watch (dial and movement) with fake caseback and bracelet.

I think the the complete watch is a fake. Wrong sweep second hand and and dial for a B13047. Should be on a B13050. Back looks fake too. Should look like this:

You can see the difference in quality and where the B13047 is located. Suggest you take the back off to be sure.

what's wrong with seconds hands?
