Neither (and I used to own a BlackBird).

The red on black has got to be one of the dumbest color combos on a watch I've ever seen. I definitely like the BlackBird the most out of the Breitling lineup, but I cannot stand Breitling Limited Editions.

So I'm no help :D

red strike for sure. I got mine from Fear #555. The black steel does not look like the same in person.

My vote goes to the Blacksteel Limited Edition model.
I already got one (Avenger Skyland Blacksteel, the 1st edition ever made by Breitling) and it's a fantastic watch, very "discrete" watch indeed.

Best regards,

Thanks all for the opinion and thoughts. I saw both in person and will go with the BS Blackbird. The redstrike had a nice bracelet and case but the red font was not appealing. The BS version will be something different for my collection.

(BUT, my favourite Blackbird by a million miles is the original brushed steel / black dial / white markings version. That version is impossible to beat IMO).

Exactly. :yeahthat I used to own a Red Strike and didn't bond with it at all, I was very relieved when it sold and I was able to get the brushed version again. If it has to be one of these two then the Blacksteel was my vote.

:yeahthat Given the options, I went with the Red Strike, but I'd take the standard black-dial/brushed Blackbird any day over any other version of the watch.

:yeahthat

+2

Definitely concur on both statements.
