Great stories guys. Lots of Tags, Longines, Breitlings, and Omegas as starter watches.

Scott, thank you for sharing that personal story.

After reading all the replies my gut feeling was right, I don't think I'll ever depart with my SO. All the watches I've bought were to underline a special occassion so they mean a lot, to me at least. My SO was for getting into business school after my undergrad, the Navi was for finishing my MBA like jnelson3097 and the CSO was for paying all my school loans. My next addition, a Montbrillant, will also serve as a reward for something else. I'll keep you guys posted...

my first "nice" watch I bought myself was a rolex datejust, stainless steel, jubilee bracelet, white dial and roman numerals. that was about 15 years ago and I have been hooked ever since.

my dad gave me an omega constellation day date over 20 years ago which I very rarely wear but would never sell.

My first nice watch is my Breilting SuperOcean I got for my 18th birthday. I would take it over any of my other watches for that very reason.

First was a Seamaster chrono diver from my now wife as an engagement gift . Years later was a Planet Ocean chrono from her. Will never sell any ofthem or any others . I enjoy the memories of why i bought them in the first place and where i was in life .
