I am trying to decide on my next breitling. I've narrowed it down to two models. Two different spectrums but ones that fascinate me nonetheless.

First is the navitime world. The classic navitimer which I believe is a must have breitling. I'm a mechanical watch person. I've been wanting a larger sized watch, and the world should fit the bill.

Second is the breitling emergency (non-mission). I am not big quartz fan, but the emergency watch fascinates me.

Looking for opinions for my next purchase. :D

Emergency for me.
If you're considering a quartz, you mightaswell buy the best one ever made. Don't spend a single weekend without mine. Best casual watch I've ever owned.

Between those two I prefer the emergency. It is very unique and when it is titanium I absolutely love it. The Navitimer world doesn't do much for me. I much prefer the original Navitimer.

Hello,

The Breitling Navitimer World of course :lingsrock:

The Breitling Emergency watch and line "should" be replaced by a new one with another transmitter in 1 or 2 years now.
The Breitling Navitimer World is a stunning watch, "class & classic Breitling watch", perhaps the next one for me or this one Navitimer 1461
(I got an Emergency one, I only use it when I fly planes as a pilot, that's all and what it's designed for, a tool watch, search for my other posts on Emergency threads here).

Best regards,

Challenger_fr

An emergency. I recently picked up the "traditional" Navitimer on a calf strap with the Arabic numerals.

I like the look of the Emergency, but a mechanical watch always wins out over a quartz...so World for me.

After much consideration, I am going to go with the 'World' :D

I do like the Emergency but the World has more attributes that appeal to me. Mainly the mechanical movement and the full size. :lingsrock:

...love both your choices but have to vote for the World. It's the biggest watch I've ever owned but doesn't feel like it now. I have pretty small wrists and still feel great wearing the 46mm case. The only downside is it made my other watches feel a little small.

Either one will be great so no worries. In fact, if you're really conflicted just get both!

I voted for the World. It appears its exactly what you're looking for. The fascination with the Emergency might wear off over time since you're not a big quartz fan. Get the World now and then down the road get a second hand Emergency.
