Do remember that these are threads that have not been LOOKED AT for 120 days.. not stuff that hasn't been posted in. So that means not a single person has look at that post in a long time. Heck.. we could even change it to 360 days.. which would mean that the page wasn't even looked at in a year. If someone posted a great thread 3 years ago and it always gets look at, then its not going anywhere.

Not a fan of this but understand the need to clear space. Why not just prune the sales thread that have been marked as sold?

I think Roff has a great point here.
Limiting the sell ads to hosted pics makes a lot of sense, much better pictures make more impressive ads and require no server space, the only one suffering from this would be Roff, who would repeat his picture posting advice even more often. The Gallery is hosted pics in almost all cases anyway.

The relatively new inclusion of pictures in the replica section makes a lot of sense, but again Roff has a point, many pics are just "more of the same" and could be deleted quite quickly, but sometimes new and creative forgeries pop up. It would be a great resource if a sticky thread in this section would include typical examples of fakes and new/never-seen fakes would be added by Roff, Sharkmouth, ade113 and other experts.

A similar sticky thread in the vintage section would be great too.

I could limit forum pruning to only the sales and replica forums initially and see how that works then.. there does seem to be a consensus that the sales and replica forums are the ones that are the least important when it comes to old threads.

Any way to just archive old threads into a picture/avatar/smilie/rtf less format like some other sites?

But I guess if nobody has even looked at a thread for 6 months, its probably useless anyway.

If it's not a lot of work, you could prune to the 360 day point then do it again in a month. Rinse and repeat...
