Hi.

OK here is my dilemma... I'm torn between buying a Breitling Navitimer A23322 or a Breitling Montbrillant A41330.

I like the A23322 Navitimer with a black dial, white sub-dials and black leather strap
or with a silver/white dial, white sub-dials and a brown leather strap.

I like the Montbrillant with a silver/white dial, white sub-dials and a brown leather strap.

My budget is around £1500 GBP ($2400 USD) so I'm looking at the pre-owned market but even still it is going to take some good searching to find these watches at this low price.

I have seen some Montbrillants on ebay in this price range but while I do like this watch a lot I'm kind of hopping I will find a good A23322 Navitimer as I slightly prefer it's looks and size.

If the Montbrillant was a 40mm watch instead of a 38mm watch then this would be a no brainer for me but I'm worried that it will look to small on my wrist.

I'm itching to get this watch soon because I really need a good watch but should I hold fire and keep looking for A23322 Navitimer?

Any thoughts or advice is most welcome :)

I strongly suggest that you go into an AD and try both models. I have quite small wrists and even for me the 38mm Montbrillant was too small. The new LE Montbrillant with the in-house movement is 40mm, but its close to 6k GBP

I think you'd be extremely lucky to find either watch for that price.
Possibly one thats had a hard life perhaps.

Even the US market offers those watches for more than £1500 gbp, it's all due to the current price increase of new models, which the pre-owned sellers are taking advantage of by increasing their prices in turn.

Hi.

I have tried on the 40mm Limited Edition Montbrillant 01 in a AD and it looked great! Over £6000 GBP though!

I've also tried on a Limited Edition Navitimer 01. They wanted £6.8k GBP for that one too! lol

It seems that the standard versions (non LE) are harder to buy new from the AD's now.

Can anyone post a photo of a 38mm Montbrillant on a 6.5 inch wrist please if they have one?

Full outfit shot preferably :) Thanks

Hi. I ended up buying the 38mm Montbrillant on a black leather strap and am extremely happy with it. I managed to get a mint condition one for £1400 from a guy on ebay and I've since had it checked out by an authorised dealer who gave it the all clear :)

I must say though, I spent a solid 2 weeks researching how to spot fakes, I tried on around 8 different genuine Breitlings in-store and I purposely purchased a replica online for around £100 so I could get familiar with the differences and not waist my future £thousands on counterfeits.

Now I feel very confident in buying from the pre-owned market. My best piece of advise would be to pay via paypal because they have a good refund policy for the buyer (not so great for sellers) and get your watch checked at an authorised dealer as soon as you receive it.

I think now I will start searching for an A23322 Navi to buy too as this was the watch that first braught my attension to Breitling and I'm still in love with it. lol

Very nice choice. Once you get comfortable buying second hand the allure of the deal is hard to pass up.

Nice choice and lets see some pics.

Very nice Jason, looks great! The Monty with the white dial also looks outstanding on brown croco :lingsrock:

Looks quite nice. Is this the 38mm diameter ? for some reason looks bigger in the pictures.

Also, I quite like this particular model with the lume swords. What year is it ?

Don't know why they decided that the current model(with B01) and the outgoing one(which is still on the breitling.com) should not feature lume swords.

Yup, the Monty is 38mm indeed and I agree 100% with you regarding the older style dial of the monty which if memory serves me correctly dates pre-2007 with the lume swords and other little details. The dial looks like this after 2007:

Now that is a classy Navi.

I agree with Sasho in saying that thing begs to be on brown crocc. Not that the black leather doesn't look great! Congrats on the great deal for an even better watch.

Beware though....finding sweet deals on Breitlings is very much like trophy hunting. You will always be looking for the next deal.
