At this moment in time I can't find much about it. However I'm not giving up.

I hope that this doesn't come across as arrogant, because it's not intended to.......

With vintage pieces there are very few absolutes, but the group of experts here have a greater collective knowledge of vintage Breitlings than I have ever come across. Stating that a clearly flawed piece is correct on the first day that you are part of the group creates a risk of giving you a reputation that you don't want.

I'm sure that you have a lot to contribute to the group, but if you don't know about a piece then it's OK to say that - none of us know everything and we've all bought pieces that are 'wrong'. Stick around and you'll learn more than you ever thought was out there to be known - we're all learning every day.

It is a great place to learn from each other and as a watchmaker we can doubtless learn a lot from you. But I'm willing to bet that your training was about end shake and amplitude, cap jewels and polishing pivots, etc. I suspect that very little time was spent on the hundreds and thousands of ways that unscrupulous people try to make no name Swiss watches look like Breitlings (and other brands).

Don't take my word for it that the watch that you posted has issues, let others comment.

With now the research in hand (not my own) those pictures are of somebody else watch it was sent off Breitling UK As a result of the comments posted on another forum.

Regarding my Breitling model 755 square chronograph and the doubts expressed about it being genuine on 29th March I decided to contact Breitling U.K. at their service centre in Tunbridge Wells who informed me that they have a department dedicated to the authentication of vintage watches and asked me to forward the watch to them for inspection. This I did and yesterday, the 4th April I was contacted by Jenny Fairthweather who informed me they had inspected the watch and found it to be genuine and that they would be sending it back to me along with a letter confirming authenticity. The watch duly arrived today, 5th April and I attach a scan of the aforementioned letter which, as can be seen contains further comment about the watch. I trust that this will satisfy the sceptics and suggest that perhaps an apology is now in order.

And here is the paperwork that was sent back over this watch in question. http://forums.watchuseek.com/f260/breitling-premier-square-chronograph-525307.html

ps. I found the watch in 1001 colletable wristwatches a book I bought afew years ago and it look alomost the same as the one on the site serial numbers too, only my printer is busted right now and pick these off his forum.

I knew I'd seen those photos before:

It was debated then and I have no intention of going through it again.

I'll happy scan my wonderful dictonary of collectable watches when my printer starts to work again. And the watch I have in the book is slightly diffrent dial wise but the rest is pretty much the same.

I never go by go by what one person says but I do my homework and I research it, it being in my book of watches, his letter etc is proof enough for me that this to some extent and ligit Breitling, not saying it's all 100% even I doubt that, but nor can I discourage it otherwise due to the fact I can only use pictures as a reference point and not the object itself.

As for the comment yes I did learn about how to put watch and clocks together...balance springs etc and of course Sliver and goldsmithing, however my knowledge of swiss watches comes from my Passion of buying them and restoring etc, nowadays it's a a hobbie for me always has been and always will be.

Fair enough, just recognise that there are a lot of people here with just as much passion, and just as much (or more) experience with these pieces.

Sorry If I myself came as blunt or arrogant or even a know it all, it wasn't intended I was just abit annoyied with your last comment. I came on this forum because it's mainly about Breitling a company I know the history about but for the rest not alot. I know about the two Breitlings I own due mainly that I own them, but my knowledge is a bit dub from there on. I understand and am only too grateful that people know alot more than me due to that I myself can learn more and more from them. I feel about this we need to trust eachother on a forum but not just believe everything that is said but be able to have evidence and research to back our statemeants up which I most deffinatly will always do.

So again my apolgizes if there's any hard feelings towards you it wasn't intended. Since all of us on this site have a Passion for real authenic 100% watches and not Knock offs from China we are on the same team, a passion of timeless works of art and not just buying a knock off to have a name that means nothing. :lingsrock:

No worries.

With vintage pieces there is a significant absence of fact because so little paperwork survived (or at least has been made available) after the 1978 change of ownership. As a result many, many discussions will be based around opinions formed by experience.
