You can get a replacement certificate from Breitling if needed, but the AD should supply it (and certainly pay for the replacement if they can't find it).

That maybe the case and the AD's obligation, however the question is, was the certificate really misplaced or the AD never had it? Normally all the papers are kept together either with the watch or in the box. Why separate them?

Thanks..

Not in my experience.

I love visiting my AD when they open a new shipment of watches - all packed neatly from the distributor in a big box and then you take the lid off and see 20+ Breitlings sitting there looking up at you from their cushions - and not a Breitling box or paperwork in sight.

I guess they must be shipping the boxes with the papers separately? to cut shipping cost? i guess shipping each watch with the box will be too huge in volume,
i could be wrong..

Thanks..

should i make it a big deal?

I would insist on a replacement. Not having full paperwork can affect resale.

:lingsrock:

If he can't provide it, then something's really wrong.

And I would double check that numbers correspond.

Guess that maybe the way to do it overseas since here ADs may even get daily, but smaller, deliveries with each watch being in its box with its papers. They're not that far from where they're made anyway, so big shipments are not the rule if they can get a watch in 24 or 48 hours from when they place the order.

I'd expect international shipments from the factory to distributors are bulk-packed for customs inspection purposes. Makes sense to marry box and papers at P.O.S.

Serial #s on watch, COSC and warranty card should match.

Exactly. I should've been more precise but thought that was evident.

Thanks Roff.

Got the cosc certificate from the AD today, wasn't wearing the ling that time to check but when i got home the serial number of my avenger seawolf isn't there on the cosc certi, there are 2 sequence of numbers, one is punched on the left hand side & the other is printed in a white label & is labeled "montre no" even that number isnt my reference number, which numbers are suppose to match the watch? calling AD tom as its night now & they are shut..

Thanks..

The serial number on the watch, the number in the top right hand corner of the COSC certificate and the montre no. (watch number in French) should match, the punched number will be different.
