I have been bitten by the lure of Breitling and am about to purchase my third Breitling. It's going to be a A23322 Navitimer. The only issue I have is whether to get one with an numerals or baton dial. I have always wanted a classic looking Breitling watch and it's very exciting to now be able to get one. Any advice much appreciated.

I personally like the numeral dial (white and/or lumed), more 'instrument' look IMO. Good luck with your decision!

Thanks, that decision is so hard. I was looking at the Navitimer 01 but don't know if I like the date set against the black or the red second finger. These are small things I know but when you're spending this amount these details suddenly become important, and yet it's still so hard to choose. BTW just out of interest how often do Breitling change the boxes and poackaging of their watches?. Is it yearly or do they stick with it for a few years before changing?. The world of Breitling is exciting. I never understood how people get obsessed by a watch brand, but once I got one I just wanted another and another :)

Ok my order is now in. I have to wait a few weeks for the watch to arrive but that just adds to the anticipation, which in itself is no bad thing. I know this won't be my last Breitling, but I was thinking about how we all seem to somehow have to justify to ourselves, or our partners (if we have one) the purchase of a Breitling. But I have concluded that we shouldn't either feel guilty at the expense or worry that we could spend the money on something seen as maybe more worthwhile. The reality is that there will always be something else you could spend on, whether it's a mortgage, home improvement and so on. Or you could just save the money. But surely part of being a human being is how we express ourselves via the things we own. And if we work hard and are fortunate enough to have the opportunity to own a Breitling, then we should. The feeling of wearing one of these watches is enough in itself to justify the price. Nothing can compare to that.

Congrats Martley on ordering your new Breitling. Don't worry about the price justification  So what did you end up getting? The older Navitimer A23322 with batons or arabics? Or did you go for the Navitimer 01?

Yes I've ordered the 01 edition in the end with batons. I kind of wanted the 01 limited but I'm not sure if 1) it's still available or 2) it might just be too much it terms of cost.

You have eased my mind quite a bit. This is proper justification.

After so much deliberation I now have on order the Navitimer 01 Limited edition. I decided to change my order after a few days of thinking more about it. To have the limited is very special and I may not get the opportunity to spend this much on a watch again. I've got a good deal on the watch and now await delivery. It's like walking on air, I'm very excited now.

Your review definitely assisted in my final decision. To own this watch feels almost like a privilege. I'm going to hang onto the feeling the moment I get it so I can remember it for always :).
