Chrono Galactic or the Montbrilliant are both beautiful pieces.

How new a watch do you need? The pre-Evolution Chronomat was about 39mm and were made with a beautiful mother of pearl face. I sold this one last month....

Stainless versions of this were also made. Maybe a little tough to locate but decently priced since so many people have gone larger these days.

More recently, the Chrono Cockpit was 39mm for a time, quite similar to the old Chronomat. All very nice watches.

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions...at least it's narrowed down! :)

So how much does a NEW Chrono Galactic or Chrono Cockpit go for these days? I would like to know the suggested retail? Shouldn't be drastically different from store to store correct?

Chrono Cockpit is now discontinued. Chrono Galactic US price before the recent increase (Canadian is pretty much the same) was $4,280 for the regular dial, $4,855 for the MOP - that's just the watch, bracelet / strap will be extra. Not sure how much this model went up.

You can get a healthy discount from that and I can provide a referral to a Toronto AD if you need one.

Hi Roffensian,

Sorry I truly am a newbie  ...What do you mean by bracelet /strap is extra...How would I wear the watch otherwise? They don't sell a whole watch? Also, would I have to purchase a watch winder for this type of watch?

BTW - It would be great if you could provide some referrals :)

The retail list of a MOP Chrono Galactic in the US is $6645 all inclusive - head and bracelet. Retail list will be the same from store to store - the ADs may not alter the "sticker price" for what Breitling directs. Discounts area bout 25%.

Question - are you set on a chrono? If not you will find the Cockpit or Galactic41 considerably lower priced. The discontinued but still avialable Cockpit is about $4500 list in the US. Both come in MOP dials. Although 41mms, it is coonsiderable thinner and will wear no larger than the 39mm Chrono cockpit or Chrono Galactic.

Also Cockpit's and Chrono Cockpits are readily avialable on the pre-owned sales forums. There are some now on watchuseek and timezone. And if you are willing to go new but grey market, authenticwatches has a MOP Chrono Cockpit.

Pricing is always based on head and strap / bracelet separately because of the flexibility - Sharkman gave you the price on hte pilot bracelet which is the most expensive option, on a calf strap with tang buckle the cost will only be about $150 more than the head only - all of the other strap options will fit in between.

PM me when you are ready to buy and I'll give you a contact.

The bracelet that comes on this watch is a SS pilot bracelet. It is Breitling's 5 row bracelet and a great one at that. But the same can be said for all Breitling bracelets - they are extremely well done.

I second the vote for the SOH 38. I think it wears really well on a small wrist, and really has a bad*** factor to it that a women's watch wont really offer IMO. If you are looking for a sport watch I highly suggest trying one on.

Good luck with the search.

Since a Chrono Cockpit is discontinued, what is a reasonable price to pay for one with MOP dial?

There are two on Chrono24 right now - http://www.chrono24.com/en/search/index ... tview=list

Those are dealer asking prices and are too high. Also check eBay, especially sold items.

Hello! Thanks for all the replies. Just thought I'd let you all know I decided to go with the Chrono Cockpit w/ roman numerals MOP dial and ss band. I absolutley love it! I paid $3400...I hope that's a good price :)

Here's a pic...it actually looks bigger on my wrist in the picture ...for whatever reason. But in reality it's smaller...oh well!

The only thing that truly matters. Classic, elegant watch. Can't speak to the value proposition as I haven't shopped them. Congratulations.
