Actually, before it was the PO, it was the SMP. And before that, it was the Sub. But it was Timothy Dalton, so....

No, I mean in the beginning - ala Connery and Moore.

Early in "Dr. No". Connery checks his watch--Rolex Sub on black/gray NATO band. Pics are in cyberspace somewhere. Ian Fleming also specified the Rolex for Bond in his books.

Ah yes - advantage Tom. (Honestly, I knew that; I was thinking purely linearly - movie to movie in reverse.)

Did Moore wear a Sub? I know it was with Moore that they started all that Seiko digital crap, but I can't remember if he ever wore something cool. Another thing to consider, for those who are swayed by the James Bond factor with Omega, is that Omega has struck a deal with the production company. It's pure product placement. Not so with Rolex, because they don't do that sort of thing. So, if you're attracted to Omega because James Bond wears the brand, just know that feeling is by design.

According to the DVD documentaries, the Sub in Dr. No belonged to Cubby Broccoli. For some reason I can't remember, Connery was sans watch on the set, so Cubby took his own watch off his wrist and Connery put it on. That's like the ultimate opposite of corporate product placement.

And Roger Moore wore Seikos IIRC.

I own a seawolf and a superocean, I just pick up a 45.5 P.O. i would have to say that breitling has better a.r. coating and a better bracelet (although i like the look of the P.O. bracelet a lot more than the DPII) The P.O. bracelet uses pins instead of screws and has no micro adjustments. The p.o. has a better movement imo. They are both great watches and you cant go wrong either way you go. there is a big diferance in price if buying new and somewhat less if buying used. Steve

I concur. I am still on the fence, but leaning toward the PO. I love the PO bracelet. Since I already have a few of the Aeromarine series, I am more inclined to diversify. But who am I kidding, I'm always a sucker for a good Breitling! :D

Thanks guys for all your inputs.........and yes the Bond factor is cool.
