Got the call earlier this afternoon from my AD that my SO finally came back from its overhaul :woohoo: Needless to say, I left the office a bit earlier to go pick it up. Holy smokes :wowzers when I got there and they showed it to me I almost crapped my pants right there and then. It looks brand spankin' NEW!!! Its simply flawless

I thought that I couldn't like BREITLING any more than I already do, but as I type this I think that I actually do. I was smiling like an idiot looking at it in my car on the way home. I still can't take the stupid grin off my face

That thing is clean as a whistle!!!! Good job BUSA :lingsrock:

You have quickly built up a stellar collection that you should be proud of. Very functional as any off those can be worn just about anywhere.

I can actually imagine how I would wear yours in place of my trio. Keep up the good work!

Couple of questions:

How much does it cost to send it off for an overhaul? I've had mine for many years and it hasn't been serviced.

Was yours pretty dinged up before you sent it? Mine has some scars and I was wondering how much touch up they can do.

I've actually been thinking of parting ways with mine and picking up a steelfish. Do you guys know about how much I could get for mine being unserviced? Would it be worth it to pay for the overhaul and then sell it? I don't want to put out $$$ and only get $ back.

Best health, Frank.

Thanks thomasenlow1 :) I am very pleased with the progress thus far. However, the collection is not done yet  The SO will be my tool watch, wear it with jeans on weekends or whatever, the Navitimer and the CSO (now on the proII bracelet) can be my office watches or when I am going out, etc. Having said that, I think I will sport the SO on the rubber tomorrow at the office. It is casual Friday after all :D

I think you meant to say that a shout out goes out to Breitling of Toronto  :canada

Hey gliebig,

Overhaul for the SO was $450 CAD. Mine wasn't too messed up however it did have clear signs of wear and tear. It was my one and only watch for almost three years. Wore it all the time, at the office, during play, in the ocean, camping, washing my car, etc. So it saw a fair bit of action. Before I sent it in it was also losing some time and it really bothered me. So when I got the Navitimer and I sent it for an overhaul right away. I had the time to inspect it further this afternoon after the overhaul and its really flawless. It most def had its scars and I know where they were. Looking at it now, I can't see anything. They really exceed my expectations and I am a real freak when it comes to details. I can always spot the imperfections. Now I can't find any. I think the look on my face when I saw it said everything, I actually think it looks better than when I bought it  But to answer your question, they will almost take all the battle scars out. Unless they are really severe. For your last question, it really depends on how badly its banged up, its age, and also how well its keeping time.

Thanks roman4405 and Frank!

@Roffensian: Go Canada, oil is high, but neither of us is in oil and gas. Calgary is doing great though, except the snow storm we had earlier today :nutkick:

Excellent work and handsome watch indeed! I know the feeling, when I got my Antares back from its big overhaul it sparkled better than new, instantly forgetting the considerable bill. However they ask quite a lot more for servicing chronographs, obviously, but my BB won't need it before the next three years 8)

Well, she's a beauty Alex. I can almost see your grin from here but I assure you, it's normal, don't you worry about that.

BTW, awesome pic of your little family, you should be proud. :lingsrock:

I'm glad the family is all back together and looking better than ever. Great pics, too. I notice you switched the DPII over to the SO and put the Pro II on the CSO. I know it's a little off-topic, but how do you feel the CSO on Pro II wears compared to how it is on the DPII? Which do you prefer?

Thanks JacksonStone. Indeed I switched things a bit. My Pro II is perfectly sized for my wrists so when it went on the CSO it really fit like a glove. It also increased the Bling factor of the watch. I think I like it more and I find it more comfy too. However, I like change and I will soon pick up a brown croc and put it on the CSO for the fall. I will leave it on the Pro II for the summer. I intend to wear it to the office more in conjunction with my Navitimer so I wanted it to be a more dressed up. I knew my SO was coming home and the DPII was going to be perfect for it. I wore in last Friday on casual day at the office and it fit perfectly with jeans. Also this weekend when I am lounging around the house I had the SO on the DPII all the time. Its lighter and perfect for a sporty watch (tool watch). Its a detail, but the numbers on the bezel of the SO are black so they pick up the DPII nicely. On the other hand, the CSO bezel numbers are not colored in so its in perfect harmony with the Pro II. Also with the DPII on the SO, it really gives it an under the radar look and very understated which I like a lot. Then I have the dressier models Navitimer and CSO when I want to dress up a bit more. Long answer but hope it addresses your question :)

EDIT: Also forgot to mention that the head of the CSO is obviously heavier than that of the SO, so with the Pro II I find there is a better balance between bracelet and watch. The same goes for the SO with the DPII. But at the end of the day, you can't go wrong with either.

Are you thinking of changing things up as well? You were asking about the Pro I bracelet compared to the Pro II...

I noticed that and meant to comment on it.....Perfect choice to switch those two up IMO. If you are going tool with the SO go rubber with just enough bling on the clasp, and you are set for knocking around on the weekends.

Having the option to go black croc or SS bracelet is sure a nice 1-2 punch in the office. I have been wanting to put a crocco deployant on my Navi for sometime as well, but haven't pulled the trigger. It really dresses the watch up, where the calf gives the Navi a bit more sporty look.

I really think the third watch was what this crazy hobby to the next step. Three watches can get you through any imaginable WIS scenario. Anything beyond that is just a sheer love of great timepieces.

A watch? :)
Two watches? :?
Three watches?
Four+ watches?

Sure is fun though. Great start to many years of enjoyment as a family
