I must admit I'm a little confused. Driver, in your top ten list, didn't you long for a two-tone, blue dial standard Crosswind, and not the Crosswind Special?

Ricardo, nice review. Seeing the watch on a Pilot gives me a whole new appreciation for it. Just gorgeous. Did you end up buying the watch? You thanked Andrew Michaels for lending you the watch, and I know you were considering the purchase a little while back.

Well spotted Mr Stone.

You'll have to allow me a sizeable amount of poetic license. The anecdote does hold up though because it was Mr Driver's post that reminded me how wonderful the Crosswind collection was, and especially the Specials for me.

I'm working on it. Sam and I are trying to sell one of my collection to someone in America. If that comes to fruition the Crosswind Special may well be mine. However, he threw a curve ball yesterday (is that the expression? I don't watch Baseball) when I went to see him. He offered me one of these at such a stupidly low price I am unable to look beyond it at the minute. I will not disclose the actual figures but its really not that much more than the Crosswind Special LE!

Please look out for a review of this extraordinary timepiece soon

Beautiful Olympus. That's a tough call. And yes...curveball is the correct expression.

:wowzers ricardo, great overview and, this time, enriched with anecdotes.

What an homage for an exceptional and rare Breitling piece. Your efforts are much appreciated.

Yes that's right - the TT standard Crosswind with the full gold bezel was (is?) a real grail of mine, not the Crosswind Special....... although it IS a damn fine watch.
