I would have included the Motors T Speed over the Le Mans in black dial and possibly at the top of the list! :D the detail is amazing.

Great summary, Driver. I second your vote for the Crosswind. It's the model I find myself thinking about more and more, and will probably acquire one of these days. To me, it represents what I like best about Breitling. Unfortunately, the models you list that I like the best are all discontinued, and the current models, while not all horrible, just don't do it for me as much, if at all. One exception is the Navi 01, which I think upholds the Navi tradition well, while advancing it in a good direction. The rest of the new lot...meh. I'm still undecided on the Transocean, and there's nothing any current Chronomat does for me that the Crosswind, Evo, Blackbird, or classic Chronomat didn't do way more.

And FWIW, I always thought the Blackbird looked better in person than in pictures. :)

Excellent post D8! I am glad somebody posted something like this given the recent sentiment. Breitling still appeals to me, a lot. :lingsrock:

:yeahthat
Still plenty of good choices IMO and still can purchase many of the discontinued models on the used market.

Great post D8! Thanks.

Great list D8! This is interesting for sure. There's something about top-ten lists that sparks conversion. I'd agree largely with list but feel the omission of the Evolution is damn near blaspheme! I see your point about the Crosswind but I just prefer the Evo and think it embodies modern Breitling.

I think it was brave to include the Buck Rogers inspired Flying Fish. I think that it shows how open you are to the new design aesthetic and, in turn, "legitimizes" your other choices.

Very cool list! Thanks for doing this!

With all the doom and gloom over the past month its great to read a positive thread! I agree with pretty much all of D8's choices. Swap the crosswind for a BB and I'm in. Now the qn to really throw the cat among the pigeons is... what about an all time list, vintage as well? Anyone brave enough?

 I think it'd be a brave man to attempt that, but I'm sure there are a couple here who could give it a go!

I omitted vintage pieces from my post on purpose as my knowledge of the old classics is quite limited.

Nice work D8 to what is clearly a well thought-out and articulated celebration of Breitling. While I don't necessarily agree with your rankings so what, I enjoyed the read and particularly your passion for the brand! I also really liked that a number of your listed watches were the newer models.

I've accepted the challenge (huge surprise I'm sure!). I have my top 4 set, but I keep changing my mind on 5 - 10, there are a couple that will be in there for sure, but not sure on where yet.

Very interesting thread D8, thanks for posting.

If I may disagree with you however, I would add the BB and SA in there. Against the Bentley and one of the Navis? Tough choice actually.
