Well, the money for the broken Martin Braun has been burning a hole in my pocket so I just had to pick up something else.

It's another odd ball, so let's see if Sergio can maintain his record and figure this one out. Driver8 is excluded because he knows I was looking at it. Here are a few clues

1) It is technically a modified generic base, but it is extremely heavily modified and very little remains of the original base
2) Limited edition of 88
3) It has one of the rarest materials to be used in a watch
4) Like Martin Braun, the watchmaker is not Swiss by birth

That leads me to believe it's something from Linde Werdelin, but I can't figure out what model uses a rare material. Then again, it may not be a Linde Werdelin so I may not be close.

I want to say a piece by Jaquet Droz because of their many collections with limited edition of 88, but he was swiss-born. Lots of rare materials there too.

This is a TOUGH one.

1. Franc Vila - FVa15 Meteorite. Meteorite dials are one of the more rare materials used in watches.
2. Jaquet Droz, they use a number of rare materials in their watches and have quite a few limited to 88. I'd say a model with an Ivory Dial is a pretty rare material. But I believe he is swiss born.

We're on the same page. Im going with the Jaquet Meteorite.

EDIT: just googled him and I guess he is Swiss.

Sergio comes through again, with an assist to Bronco for the brand.

Franc Vila (who is Spanish) FVa 15 column regulator with a meteorite dial. LEs of 88 are fairly popular because 8 is a lucky number in Asian cultures.

Here's a seller's pic for now, I'll do a review when it arrives.

 Jeez, Sergio's a demon at these "guess the watch" polls!

Nice one Roff - is it the same one we spoke about? I guess the price ended up being quite reasonable after all! Looking forward to the review.

Same seller, different physical watch, better price

There's a remote possibility that I may have another really weird watch before the day is out too, but don't think that one's going to happen.

It is an interesting watch, but more interesting is Sergio's freakish abilities.

Nice work Scott, you and I posted within seconds of each other.

Congrats on a very unique piece. A dial with an actual meteorite in it is AWESOME!!! Enjoy.

That's certainly an interesting piece. I can't wait to see more pictures of it.
