Oh come off it, like you actually asked that question here hoping for that?!

DO IT NOW ! where the HELL did you get this "sensible" SHIT ? REAL LING men are not "sensible". You are becoming a REFRESHING guy here like Driver8, you understand the DEGRADATION of Gymnasium Wall Clocks, you are not replying to posts with some WIMPY crap like "I don't think that's appropriate here" , you post COMMANDING thoughts etc. etc. etc.

Quit WIMPING around and GET THE DAMN LEGENDE ! TODAY !

We need another 2 Tone aficionado of GOLD around here !

Then Driver8 will follow and have ANOTHER boost of "maturity" and get 2 of them !

Absolutely! Why have one when you can have two!?

Not sure I'll be indulging in a Legende (or two) myself just yet, but that's no excuse for you not to get one Roff!

Well, the 'unusual' one is out of the running - bnewbie sent me the link to this - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... otohosting

Seems coincidence that it appeared the day after one was offered on TZ, so likely the same piece.

Reasons I'm passing on it are two fold - first, the crown doesn't have the B on it, and although photos of this watch are limited as there were so few made, all the photos I've seen had the logo (and that makes sense). I'm not doubting that the watch is right, just concerned that it wasn't cared for if it had repairs done with non OEM parts.

Second reason - well I just can't get my head around a quartz watch.

Still struggling with the Legende - not sure which way I'm going to fall on that one.

I think it was a wise decision to pass on the CA69. I'd vote for the Legende in the first place and especially after that "double" appearance. I am so very pleased with mine. I am certainly not a fan of two-tone though - most Evos I've seen in two-tone has had that "tacky" mouthfeel. However, that could either be from the wearer and also the Evo isn't the Legende...

I only know myself - if the price for the Legende wasn't completely out of my cashflow for the near future I'd really hate myself for missing the deal. Good luck with the decision!

Just a quick update (this has to end soon - I can't afford to lose any more hair).

I had decided this morning to pass on the Legende - not specifically because of the money, more the emotional justification of 4 watches in 6 weeks.

The AD just called me to say that a customer at another branch was looking for the same watch and wanting to know if they could ship it to the other branch or whether she should hold it for me.

Having made the rational decision to pass on it this morning I told her.........

To hold on to it for a couple more days as I was likely to put a deposit down.

My name is Roffensian, and I'm a Breitling addict.

To tie in the other thread about contributions to the cause - if you know anyone who wants to hire an amazing consulting firm or needs a speaker or writer on appropriate topics I know a guy who needs the money to fund his addiction.

That CA 69 is not the same watch.. the one on TZ was sold to a fellow in the UK, and this one is in Japan. Its quite likely that the owner saw the TZ auction and decided to list it for that reason... figuring that he had a scale to base value on or somethhing perhaps.

Decisions, decisions... are you sure the crown is supposed to be signed? I just realized I duped the photos I had of it on the site.. I should fix that.

You're probably right about the opportunistic seller. I'm not sure on the crown, the photos on WUS are not helpful - you can only see the crown side on, and I can't find any others. I just don't know why it wouldn't have the B - other CAs of that vintage did AFAIK.

I'm not sure that it really matters, it's still a quartz watch and I think I'd prefer the Legende. Now if one of the automatic DB CA Rattrapantes were available then it would be a different story (G34360), but if memory serves there were only 25 of those.

When we're having this conversation 10 years from now there are definitely going to be more DBs in my collection, but not just for the sake of it.

Roff, if it's any help, the CA 69 did not have a signed crown, so I would say that one is totally genuine. I know this as I was looking for one of these for over a year, but I eventually discounted it for exactly the same reason that you said - basically it's a quartz watch (albeit a hybrid quartz with a mechanical chronograph module) and quartz just doesn't yank my chain.

And you are also absolutely correct about the fully automatic CA Rattrapante being a limited run of only 25. They were SS cased but with a white gold bezel........ and I have NEVER seen one for sale! If one came up (and if I could afford it!) I'd be trying to snap it up!

As others have said, go with the heart, not the wallet. Lets face it, buying yet another watch is not really financially sound whichever way you look at it so you may as well buy the one you would love and cherish the most.
