I already have it - the current one, not the new 42mm release. White dial. I've always admired that dial.

will you be getting the new one as well when it comes out?

Nah, I'm good.

In the price range I'd say:

Rolex - Sub C, GMT IIc, New Explorer 2
Panerai - 312, 359
IWC - Portuguese 7day can be had with a discount in your price range...until IWC Raises prices next month.
JLC- Master Compressor Chrono or Geographique, Navy Seals Alarm.
Breitling - Blackbird, Navi B01
Omega - Planet Ocean Chrono

I think this would be a great list to start from. I still like the Panerai bracelet so I would add the 328 to the list. You could also add a preowned Deepsea or a new Datejust II from Rolex. I like the black dial with romans or the rhodium dial with blue arabics. Both of those have the white gold bezel.

I am starting to like the Pam bracelet also. I just bought a Rolex Datejust II today. I'll let you know my thoughts on it tomorrow, I can't wait to get it. Black dial with Romans and 41mm....i gave the rhodium dial a lot of consideration but i really want a white Explorer 2 so i went With the black Dial. I'm on the Rollie bandwagon now.

Sergio, that's the model of the DJII that I like the most. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts about it.

Otto,, I received the DJII yesterday and after wearing it for 24 hours I really like it a lot!! The size is perfect, the lugs are beefy, the bracelet has a great tapered look to it almost in a V like shape coming off the lugs. The white gold bezel just twinkles when the light hits it. It's not heavy but it's also not light, it's the perfect weight. the bracelet and clasp are great and the brushed/polished finishing is outstanding as you'd expect from Rolex. I loveeeeeeeee the Romans and i really like that Rolex outlined them in white gold. Overall I'm very happy with it...could be close to the perfect dress watch option.

Thanks.

I really like the WG bezel. One thing though - is it noticeably flashier on the wrist than a GMT or Sub? The only DJIIs I've seen in the metal were two-tone and they were too flashy for me.

Boogie - yes it is an absolute joy. Its only my second Rollie but this seems like one I can wear for years and years to come because it's classic timeless look.

Otto - it is a little flashier than a sub or GMT, only because of the way to light dances around the bezel. Aside from that it's not an overly flashy piece, personally I thought my Bentley 6.75 felt twice as flashy.
