The only one that vaguely caught my attention was the galactic chrono. If you ignore the bezel the dial layout is just like the now discontinued chronomat. My next watch will be an IWC

if you check the official website, the Chronomat is still there:

How ridiculous is it that they take the Evo, throw a blackbird bezel on it, and call it a new model? Am I the only person that thinks this is stupid???? They continue to cut corners and prove theyre a 2nd class watch company.

No, just an out of date website - the old CSO is still on there to.

The daftest thing is, the Chronomat B01 is actually more of a dive watch that the new SO Chronograph, on account of having the same WR rating (500m) AND a bezel pearl!

Breitling clearly thinks the same thing.

At the same time that they fill out their professional diver range (the SOs) they also launch a model to cxelebrate a world champion free diver - what a perfect way to celebrate your new professional diver range.

Oh, it's a Chronomat.

Never mind then

The one design feature that most stood out and attracted me to Breitling was the classic bezel with rider tabs - from the top and also the profile as the bezel met the case. It is now effectively gone and once the SA bezels are used up don't ya think they will slap that galactic style bezel on it?

It was one thing to use the rubber bezel insert on the SOII - ok give us one fanciful model. Now it's growing like The Blob.

There is so much color packed into the limited area on the new CSO it just looks jumbled and confused, in need of therapy to find it's "inner child."

What's next - a molded rubber galactic style bezel?

Look, i know this is strictly a matter of opinion and personal taste, but for me Breitlings are no longer on the possible buy list. They did precisely what I had hoped they would not do. They lost one customer for certain.

I agree.

Taste is a very personal thing, and new designs can grow on people (just ask Driver8), but I have already seen a bunch of new watches that I would like from Basel 2011 (have you seen this year's Type XXII), but there is nothing in the current Breitling range that appeals. I'm very happy with my Navitimer 01, but there's nothing even close to my radar screen at the moment.

Having a dumb moment - Type XXII was last year obviously - my mind was saying 'this year's Breguets, while my hands were typing something else.

I'll go lay down in a dark room

John sent me GOs releases...WOW. They clearly know what they're doing and they're a brand with a great identity.

I'm surprised more people aren't commenting on the flying fish. I think it's the nicest new release since the Navi 01.

:yeahthat Its very easy to look at all the negatives, granted theres a lot, but there has to be some positives ~ The Flying Fish been one, and I agree with Mfserge, I really like the Flyling Fish...

Ok, confession time. I got home from work and decided to take another look at these things. Im kind of starting to like them. Clearly, there is just about nothing innovative here, but the designs are starting to click with me. The concept of a rubber bezel is strange to me, but I own an SOII and the rubber bezel pretty nice. Yet for some reason when I read that some of these have rubber bezels, im turned off by it. Weird.

I didn't check to see if there was a thread already started on the Bentleys, but take a look at the new Bentley line. They introduced Titanium which I personally think is pretty cool. Also the Barnato edition with the DB and wheel designed oscilating wheel is in my opinion unique enough to deserve some recognition.. The dial could use some tweaking.

I'm still gonna be the lone standout as one who does like the SOII 44, but I think the appeal to me (and perhaps others that are in my field of aviation) comes down to it not being so much of a dive watch (tho 2000M is SERIOUS deep) any more as it could be a military-ish pilot watch??? I like the upside-down triangle and easy to read bold hands, and as a pilot, I don't really need a lumed bezel or pip.

I know it <used to be> one of their serious dive watches, but would it help anyone to view it as more of a marine-pilot watch now?

Just curious...I won't be buying one (at least not new) since I'm sure it's outta my price range, but it is one of my fav's...really.
