Definitely the SubC if it were up to me. Even if the DSSD was the same price as the Sub, id still buy the Sub.

Sub C any day for me.

That is a great price you were quoted for the DSSD. Wonder if that's because they're not moving as quickly as dealers would like. I think it's probably less likely that you'd get that much off a Sub C, GMTIIC, or even a DJII. I got 15% off a GMTIIC and thought it was a good deal.

You must be out in the sticks. 25% off and they'll hold the watch in lawaway for 8months @ no interest? Why would they do this?

Sounds like an AD that's about to go under...or lose their Rolex account.

Where I am, Sport Rolex models aren't discounted at all. They don't even do 0% deals on them. They don't need to.

That Rolex rep there needs to do a better job of getting the dealer locations sorted out. 25% off Rolex makes the brand look like crap..

:yeahthat Even if the DSSD cost less than the SubC, I'd still go with the Sub. Ditto the GMTIIc.

I tried both of these on and compared them side to side a couple of weeks ago in Grand Cayman. I'd go with the Deepsea simply for the size. The Sub was nice, but the Deepsea just felt better on me.

:yeahthat

The DSSD is cool but I think the SubC is just classier and nicer in pretty much every way.

Thanks to everyone for your input on this topic. After much soul searching I decided to pull the trigger...

While beautiful, the DSSD was just too thick for me. I already own a Seawolf Chrono BS (big and chunky) and I figured that I should probably go with something more classic. The black Sub was next on the list. A tried and true classic! Alas, it wore a bit small. In addition, rarely do I go a day without seeing a black Sub on someone's wrist. I yearned for something different... Dah dah dada (drumroll)... THE HULK!!

The green seems to make the watch pop on the wrist. A lot more presence. I love the way the dial changes with the lighting, mesmerizing! I'm just worried that I'm going to start neglecting my Ling :lingsrock:
