I love my ipad and use it daily. I havent opened my personal laptop in several months. Of course i would love to have the ipad 2 because i want everything new that comes out. I doubt i will upgrade this year though as I dont see any improvemetns worth the money. Besides, I have watches to buy!

Not getting the iPad II, but I am typing this on my brand spanking new Mac Book Pro with the new hardware and thunderbolt hookup (not really sure what this is, but it sure as hell sounds fast).

I have been an iPhone user for about three years now, and own 3 or 4 ipods. The MBP however is first foray into Apple laptops. Needless to say I am pretty excited.

I enjoy using my parents iPad, but like Driver said....I just dont need the features they offer. I may pull the trigger and by the little lady an Ipad though as I think she would get more use out of it.

I may end up with the iPad 1 with the release of the iPad 2, at a discount of course

To be honest I'm 50/50. I have an iPhone already, which I love, so no not sure what I would need the iPad for. I have a kindle also so that removes the reading requirement.

I like the technology though and several people I know rave about them. I'm in the process of purchasing a desktop so may wait for a while.

I cant't wait to get one. The only thing I'll really use it for is surfing the web. It should be a lot more convenient than using a net book in bed.

I just got back from Mexico. So many people were using one at the resort. It seems it'll do almost everything I need a laptop to do but without the bulk and a keyboard. After using my iPhone, I want to navigate the net book using the screen anyway.

Despite playing with an iPad on many occasions (and not being able to live without my iPhone!), I still can't remotely see any reason why I would need an iPad, 1 or 2. To me it's just a big iPhone..... with no phone. Both my laptop and my desktop are easier for surfing the net IMO, I like my books to be made of paper, and I rarely use public transport so the abilty to watch movies on the move is neither here nor there for me.

I've said it before, but for me the iPad is a solution to a problem I haven't got.

I think it depends on what you are using it for Driver. Although I primarily have an office job, I have been out of the office a lot lately. I am in appointments, in cars, actually anywhere BUT in my office. The laptop is nice, but it is a pain in my a$$ to constantly drag out, start up, work, shut down...etc. The iPad is MUCH quicker at starting up, loading pages, closing down, etc. Not to mention that it is much easier to tote around than my laptop. If you are mobile with your job then I can see a major benefit to using an iPad. If you are sitting in your home surfing the net then I don't know that there is much of an advantage.

After resisting for a while, I'm now hooked. I was playing with my boss's for an hour or so last week and must say I like it. Considering what I use a computer for at home, which is mainly internet surfing and some emailing, it's perfect, especially in front of the TV; just like a big iPhone.

Precisely. I rarely work at home (that would require me to cart truckloads of documents back and forth between home and the office) so home use for me is mostly just surfing and emailing as well. The ipad is perfect for that - why wait ages for a laptop to boot itself up? My home PC hardly gets used these days.

Still not going to get an ipad 2 though.

They're sold out everywhere but radioshack got a shipment this morning. I ran over before work and got a 32 gig. Sweet. Can't wait to get home and start playing with it.

I hope you enjoy it. I wound up getting one on launch day. I use it all the time, whether for work / travel or just around the house while watching tv at night. It's definitely a nice compliment to an iphone, where the functionality is the same, but a nice large screen to use.

iNot either. I dont like the way Apple locks the iPad/iPhone where you cant do real customizations. As a tech junkie, I have to have more control over the customization so no Apple mobile devices. I am an Android fan (carrying a Droid X) and I will likely be getting the Motorolla Xoom as my first tablet. I have been waiting for the non Verizon version, though. I cant stand the thought of sending Verizon ANY more money, since I already pay for 4 Droid phones with unlimited internet. :(

Apple does have a nice looking product, though. Very refined and user friendly.
