Well it looks like we will be going with the GMT (Dammit!!! ) so now comes the design part. Before we modify the dial and hands, lets decide on a bezel color!

If anyone has any mock up designs they would like to share, that would be awesome!

Your wish is my command!

Here's a couple for starters -

This one is pantone 431 which is actually a grey/blue colour, although it looks a little green on my laptop compared to my desktop -

Pictures moved to post below

And this is pantone 302 - self-evidently a lightish blue -

Pictures moved to post below

I can do more when I have the time if people are interested.

Not too sure what to go for just yet so can I take a couple of days to think about it? I don't want to make a choice in the poll and then change my mind!

If youhave the time D8 it would be good to see a few more colours.

Thanks in advance.

Andrew

Not so sure how well it would play out but if you had the time DV8 I'd be interested in seeing a quick mockup with the bezel a somewhat muted red tone.

I'd like to reserve judgement as well until we see some mock ups of some of the options if there isn't an immediate hurry to decide.

I actually haven't voted yet either as I also want to see what some of the other colours turn out like.

The earliest I can do them is Thursday evening, but bezel colour changes like this don't take too long to knock out, so I'll whip up a few combinations. I'm thinking of doing a "proper" green, a darker blue, and a red for starters. I might also have a bit of an experiment with the Pantone palate - I've used Pantone as that's what Stenhart ask for - so we'll see what comes out.......... assuming you're happy for me to do them of course!

I think that would be great if you don't mind doing them Driver8 - and realizing of course that we will have several hundred requests for custome colours

OK guys, as promised here are a few more bezel mock-ups. (I've also moved the one from my first post into this one too). Annoyingly, the Pantone chart I was using this time on line was too low res to be able to read the codes, so I couldn't include them this time. I guess they'll just give an idea of what each will look like......

Some work better than others, but they're all here for the sake of everyone's opinion. Enjoy! (Or not as you may find with some of them! )

On these ones I tried to give a more real-life view by having the colour change slightly over the surface as if the light was hitting it. These are just for illustrative purposes as they aren't made of single colours.... if that makes sense.

And this one is the same bezel, but also with the same effect on a coloured dial as well -

The only one that looks utterly hideous IMO is the cyan one. I'm also not much of a fan of the orange or French blue either. Most of the others have their own merits.

Thanks D8, great work!

I like the Blue/Blue, Red/Black and the Blue/Black, in that order! :D

Cheers

I like the Grey the most actually. That and the C431 and the C302. They just seem a bit more unique as all the others have been seen on existing watches.

One of those colours, plus a different (i.e. non-Rolex) hand-set and it wouldn't look all that much like a Rolie-homage anymore IMO.

Yeah, I like the burgundy as well, and the dark blue (with black dial). The grey stands out as a little more muted, as does the brown. I want to hate the purple I can't (which worries me slightly  )

I am also strangely drawn to the purple, the orange is nice too. Would certainly stand out in my conservative collection!

Damned if that dark blue doesn't look killer! Especially with a black dial! I agree Driver that with some alternations like a new set of hands and some dial and text modifications we can seriousely change the look of this watch from a Rolex repliommage to something inspired by a Rolex!
