Back in October of 2010, I had myself a first “high-end” watch. It was a Super Avenger and it was a gift from my brother. But unfortunately, I don’t possess the wrist size to be able to sport this great looking watch. So it sat in is box, unworn and unloved for two months. Finally in December, I decided that I would look into trading/selling it for another Breitling that would better suit me rather than just letting the SA sit. That’s when I found this site.

So as someone that’s new to the watch world, I started reading all the threads and began learning about Breitlings and other watches like IWC, Panerai, Rolex, etc. There were so many choices to make…do I buy new or used? Which model should I buy? Where do I buy it? What should I do with my SA? To make my long story short, after much research and debate, I decided to purchase a brand new Navitimer from George in late January. Great, I got my watch fix and that should be that, right? Wrong!

Before I even received my Navitimer from George, I found myself contemplating another purchase because I had found Conrad’s FS post. Why a guy that just bought a new watch needs to browse a Buy/Sell forum, I have no idea; I really gotta stop doing that. Anyways, I decided to jump on the PAM 111 he was selling. After a long wait (at least it seemed long in my head), both the Ling and the PAM arrived this week, despite the Chicago blizzard. God bless those delivery drivers. Finally, I have not only one, but two awesome time pieces that I can actually wear.

Anyways, I want to say how thankful I am to this forum. There are so many helpful people on here and I really appreciate all the information and knowledge I’ve learned from all the members. So thank you all and thank you for reading this unnecessarily lengthy post.

So did you decide to keep the SA as well or did you end up selling it?

Beautiful watches btw.

It’s the Brookstone watch winder. I was doing all the research on the more expensive winders, but in the end, went with the Brookstone winder and I’ve had no regrets. I’ll eventually put it on a timer so it’ll get some rest period, but right now I don’t even turn it on much anyways.

Thanks! I see from your sig that you have a PAM 312. That’s a great looking watch. Was possibly thinking about that next. But hopefully, “next” is not until next year…

Thanks. I still have the SA. It’s just sitting in my watch winder, more so as decoration. Since it has sentimental value, I’m in no hurry to sell it for now. Plus, I was going to wait until the retail price goes up on them later this month…

That is a stunning Navi, you don't see the silver dial that often and with the brown croc looks sick!

Wear them well and enjoy them!

Thank you, I appreciate it. And it's actually a gold colored croc, although it is a bit darker in person than I thought it'd be too. Maybe the color gets lighter as time goes by??
