Hi
I just bought a slightly used SO Steelfish X-Plus used, that originally came from an AD. The warranty card has the name of the dealer/purchase date written in/serial number/model number, etc, as it should on the right side of the card. On the left, where the AD is supposed to write out their address and sign their name, all the salesperson did was sign their first name. No dealer name/address, etc. Will the warranty be honored with this like it is? How picky is Breitling on this? The original AD purchase date was 3/9/07. thanks!

The dealer name is punched out with holes on the right side. The warranty info says it also has to have the dealer info written in by the dealer on the left side as well, and they need to match. If this is not something to worry about, I guess I am in good shape. Thanks!

to be honest, i have no idea how strict they are with that kind of thing or even how they validate that stuff.

Steady on Rich, no one knows everything, but we're all trying to help one another, and a quick look at the site will tell you how much we are all in breitlingsource's debt.

I don't have experience with a Breitling warranty claim, but in expereinces with other situations like this I have never had a problem. The punched holes is really the 'authenticity test' if you like, if the dealer doesn't write in full details then that should be more against the dealer than the customer and that has been my experience with other products.

My guess would be that the AD uses a stamp with their name and address and the staff member forgot to stamp yours at the time of the original sale.

When sending your watch in for service, it shouldn't be an issue. As long as you didn't indicate you purchased the watch "online" there shouldn't be any issues. If you're close to the original selling dealer, I would contact them on service related issues.

Best wishes-

~Brian

Today I had to return my Skyland for warranty repair. All the AD required was the warranty card with the serial number and with the punched holes (both the number and AD name). In my case the selling AD had simply printed their name on the card. This wasn't an issue at all. Hope your experience is the same.

Cheers,
Martin

Hi there,

Is the AD name always puched out in holes on the inside back cover?

Mine has the name of the AD apparently printed by machine onto the space under "Country and Retailers Name".

Interested to know if anyone else has had a warranty where the name is not punched out. :?

All mine have always had the AD name hole-punched out. If you bought your watch from an AD you should be fine as they will be able to back you up if there are problems.

Thanks Driver8.

I bought this one second hand but it was originally purchased from the AD late last year so is within the warranty period.

In fact the watch is running just fine and if I do have any problems I can always contact the AD.

:)

Thats strange chronograph. Ive never heard of one not being punched in. I dont want to scare you, but maybe you should give that AD a call and see if that sounds normal to them.

Quite old warranty cards did not have the retailer punched out. Initially there was only the number punched out, later the country was punched out and about half a year later, the retailername followed.

All together the periode of yellow warrantycards without a retailer punched out was quite short.

Considering the acceptance of the warrantycard without the retailer stamp:
Its not really a problem as long as You don't visit another retailer who is "at war" with the retailer, who forgot the stamp. Normally Breitling accepts it, but if it happens repeatedly with one retailer, they might cause him some troubles.
