Hey guys!
So a long long time ago I saw a watch on Leo DiCaprio's hand in Blood Diamond and went "Whoa I gotta have that!". Never done this before for a watch lol. I did some research and found out it was a Breitling. I was like 17 back then and couldn't even imagine paying so much for a watch. Later on, I bought myself a Tag for about $800. I didn't really like it so much and recently sold it. My girlfriends dad is a Pilot and has a Breitling and she flies too and now that I have a bit more money, I'm considering buying myself a Breitling! I've discovered that they don't make the Breitling Chrono Avenger anymore :( I've looked at the others and really want the Chronomat in a blue face! I really like that one a lot and it kinda looks like the Chrono Avenger! This is the model that I really like:

I don't know the exact model on this though... Can anyone help identify it for me?

Also could someone help me with the price? How much would I be able to get a used one in good condition for? I would prefer new but seeing as the price for a new on on Amazon is super high, I doubt I can get myself a new one...

Anyway, I would really appreciate some help!

Thanks!

Thats a Chronomat from the 90's. Ref # A13050.
Its been discontinued for quite a while. If you want a current model Chronomat youll need to look for ref # A13356. A used, current model Chronomat should cost you somewhere in the USD$2500-3000 range.

I'm actually ok with the model in the picture above! I really like that too! Would that also be around the same price used?? Wow looks like I still won't be able to afford one :(

:welcome:

You should be able to pick up an A13050 for under $2000 if you take your time.

I remember when I watched Blood Diamond and couldn't stop staring at Leo's watch.

I think it really stood out to me because it was so chunky.
The new Avenger is very similar to the Chrono Avenger. This watch is nice and chunky and same dimensions as the chrono.

Or you could look for a used Avenger Skyland which also looks similar, have seen some go for around the £2k mark.

Here, WUS (http://forums.watchuseek.com/f29/), eBay and Chrono24 are your best bets. Chrono24 prices are asking prices and some negotiation is expected.

Maybe keep an eye out in the for sale section on this forum.

You could try a 2nd hand dealer, I've found that www.watches.co.uk (assuming your from the UK) have a good collection of Lings... plus you might be able to trade your current model against the new one.

Ah man these are more expensive than I thought :( The cheapest chronomats that I can find are all like $2000 and up :?

Is it possible to find a nice used breitling for under $1000? Something that looks similar to the chronos though? I know its probably a lame question seeing how expensive these things are, but hey it cant hurt to ask!

Thanks in advance!

EDIT : Actually if I buy a Breitling, I want the one I want. I'm not going to settle for something less because I will regret it later I know that. So is there even the most remote possibility of finding a Chronomat for around $1,000 - $1,200 or so? And have it be in good condition? I really really want the watch that I posted right on top in my first post.
