Here here. I have NEVER had a single problem with my Navi World.

Give it a few weeks before you start worrying about timing issues.

As far as the hands not aligning, its normal and just the slack in the gear train. Try this: Say you want to set it to 5:00. Turn the hands to about 5:30, and then wind the minute hand backward to 5:00 and then push the crown back in. It should pick up the slack and with a steady hand you should be able to get the minute and second hands aligned pretty close.

Classic trick. Usually works OP

Actually I don't see a whole lot of complaining on the these boards. In fact, the content is mostly constructive discussions and very helpful information. I was just talking about several topics I found where other people also had issues with timing and the GMT hand.

Over the past couple of days I've been thinking about the situation with the malfunctions of the Navitimer and a couple of questions arose in my mind. Would it be reasonable/possible to ask the AD for a replacement? I returned the watch to the AD ~20 days after I bought it, but I wore it only 4-5 days total which is why I spotted the problems late. Now I am reading that warranty repairs take 4+ weeks on average and I feel like the AD should take care of this on their own. This seems to have killed my enthusiasm for what used to be a very exciting purchase. After all, I didn't drop that much money for a watch of this caliber simply to have to send it in for repairs which will take weeks after only three weeks of possession and a few days of actual usage. I did drop off the watch just after Christmas and I think it hasn't even gotten to BUSA yet since they are closed until Monday which means even more waiting. Anyone with experiences regarding replacements? The receipt from the AD has a 15 day return policy on it, but that seems directed towards regular returns, not major malfunctions like the one with this watch. What do you guys think?

There's no harm in asking, but the AD doesn't have to take it back. Unfortunately you have a warranty issue and the warranty will take care of that, the warranty doesn't entitle you to a replacement watch when you have a problem.

Dropped off the watch at the AD today. The flaw of the chronograph stopping the watch actually happened while I was there. Turned out the GMT hand is misaligned too. I also mentioned the fact that it's running about as fast as it did when I got it three weeks ago. Couple of people including the rep who has been helping me all along were very surprised. Unfortunately, I looked around these boards and it seems like there are a number of people with this watch who have had issues with it. Anyways, I was told it's going back to Breitling for repairs and I'll get a call when it's back. Hopefully Breitling steps up and takes care of this as it is very disappointing. I'll post an update when I get it back.

A. Breitling will take care of it.

B. You have to realize that a lot of people come to online forums for the sole reason of complaining about a problem that they have. I can guarantee you that there are no "known" issues with the Navi World, and that the vast majority of owners experience no problems whatsoever.
My navi world purchased about a year ago through an AD has been flawless. Thats the issue with web forums. Most people who get a perfect product never say anything, yet people with problems are always very vocal. It seems to work like that with all products out there. Aside from being without your watch for a good while, Breitling will certainly take care of you.

Update:

Went to the AD today, calmly and briefly expressed my feelings about the situation, asked about a replacement and got a positive answer.:D

They will certainly see more business from me and the people around me in the future. Not sure if it is against the forum rules to share their name but if anyone is interested, shoot me a pm. I live in the Washington D.C. metro area.

Now I just hope the replacement lives up to the standards and expectations behind the Breitling name.

Picked up the replacement Navi World yesterday. The AD said it arrived much faster than they had expected. So far the watch is performing great. Chronograph is working properly, all the hands are aligned and it is running much better (faster again but within COSC) than the old one. There is one cosmetic issue though. The inner part of the bezel where it meets the face seems to have a gap on the right side of the watch. On the left side the space between the two parts seems to be nonexistent. I looked around the gallery and saw other Worlds in similar condition. Didn't find any topics about this though so I am wondering if it is normal?? To me it feels like poor build quality....again. :|

This is the first watch. Looking at the picture I see something similar but I can't compare since I don't have the watch anymore.

That gap is common and present to some degree in all Navi series watches. It's normal.

And necessary for the bezel to rotate smoothly.
