I've got the itch again....I am considering my next purchase, and I really want something that will be a keeper. I've been through several models, Old Navitimer II, Steelfish, Airwolf, Avenger Skyland, most recently a BB. I know, you guys think I'm nuts for letting it go, but it wasn't doing it for me for some reason. I like a lot of models, and want something that is a permanent keeper. Some of the models up for consideration:

-SOHC, black-eye blue, 125th anniversay ltd edition
-Navi 01 (when I get my eyes on it personally)
-SOHC, black-eye blue
-Super Avenger black or blue (I have a 8" wrist)
-Chronomat Evo black or blue
-Chronomat B01 black-eye blue

Non Breitling: IWC 3767 Chrono or 3717

Money is a factor, so the Navi is probably last. However if I really like it, I will part with something else. I have tried on a Chronomat 01, but still unsure. I want a keeper! You can get an idea of my taste from my list and current collection.

I appreciate all input. :poke:

Have a great holiday season guys! :santa:

-Don

If I was gonna pick a "keeper" out of that list it would be the NAvi 01. I think the in-house movement alone is enough to do it for me. Plus I really like it.

My vote goes towards the Chronomat B01 with the black-eye blue dial. I'd take the Chronomat LE B01 though over this since it's brushed and comes with the display back.

I would pick the Chronomat B01 BEB...brushed version. I much prefer the BEB dial over the one on the LE.

By looking at your collection it looks like you enjoy larger watches, so I am gonna go outside the box and say the LE SOHC BEB.

I would say the B01 but if you are unsure about it then I would say that is a lot of money for a keeper you are unsure of.

Obviously the Navi 01 takes the cake but its gonna cost ya.

I would suggest that you aren't ready to buy a keeper yet if you aren't clear in your own mind what it should be!

I'm with Roff, if you can't decide which one you want how will it be a keeper??

Black eye blue Blackbird is very nice!

I think I would be happy with any of them, but what I'm looking for is other opinions that may sway me. :) I would like to hear if anyone had issues with any of those models as well. One factor I am taking in to consideration is the fact that I have several 22mm straps, so I may lean toward something with those lugs.

Oh I know......   I really can't wait to see one in the flesh. I think the fact that it is 43mm vice 41mm will push me over the edge. :D Just the perfect size.

I like the IWC 3717 (on leather), a classy looking pilot design and something a little different than the larger Breitlings. If you can pull off (cost wise) the Navi 01, it would be worth looking at. In fact you may want to wait a bit, until after Basel 2011, to see if anything new strikes your fancy (which may be your thinking).

And Don, if you need to sell something, I've always had an itch to try a Ti CA :) .

Good luck with the hunt, always lots of opinions here!

Thanks Terry, and I agree about the IWC 3717. I know patience is a virtue, and my girlfriend reminds me constantly. I won't decide anything until I see the Navi 01 in person.

Sorry, but my CA is a definite keeper! :)

Thanks to all for the input! :yeahthat
