I know someone selling that exact Two Toned Rose Gold B01...it's the first Two Toned watch that I actually like....well I love it actually... and I'm seriously considering trying to get it from him. I think it looks spectacular with the rose gold bezel and gold roman numbers. Very very nice!

Actually Sergio, if I may, this not a Two-Tone B01, but a Steel & Gold one. And I'm really glad you like the gold roman numerals because most here prefer the batons.

Here is my Two-Tone B01 with gold roman numerals but a Pearl dial, even though the pics are not ideal to see the TT bezel.

That's a beautiful watch also!!!! I love the gold roman numerals...I love roman numerals on watches and I'm surprised there aren't more numeral fans over batons.

Going to pick up the magazine the first chance I get. Let me just say the two toned watch is out of this world. Holy Cow! I am also liking the SO. I actually got to try one on the other day and I am starting to lean toward the SO over the Colt.

Good read - thanks FEAR.

One very interesting gem in the SO II article is a description of what Breitling actually does to the standard COSC rated ETA 2824 to create the B17! From the article they "fine tune the escapement, add a higher quality mainspring, centre the hairspring, poises the balance and reglulates the movement to 5 positions" before being sent to the COSC.

You realise this is the first time we've EVER had any actual information about the modifications that Breitling do! :D

It's great to see that the small number of changes they make are ones that will help make the watch more accurate/precise, as opposed to simple cosmetic changes that a number of other manufacturers do.

However it does also highlight the fact that I've been banging on about recently :- does adding a new mainspring and performing some fine tuning adjustment of components that are already there REALLY justify being able to call it something different (i.e. a B17) as opposed to an ETA 2824? :?

I really want to see the implementation of a global industry standard for watch movement descriptions.

I think the TT B01 with the Romans looks awesome, the only issue I have withe the Roman Numerals on the B01 is that there are 3 different styles of font on the watch, the sub-dials, the Roman Numerals and the Buck Rogers font on the bezel. Still looks sick though.
I think that Roman numerals generally look classier, and that white dial B01 is a beaut.

Unfortunately that doesn't really tell you very much though.

The mainspring is a meaningful (if predictable) piece of information, but the rest is really just an 'intense' regulation prior to sending to the COSC. The comment on poinsing is interesting and I'm really not sure how you do it with a solid balance wheel. Poising is the process of ensuring that the balance wheel is perfectly true and involves minute adjustments to the shape and the weight distribution. I have to try and do it a lot as I practice my watchmaking skills, but I thought that it was rendered redundant with the move from split balance wheels with screws to solid balance wheels.

Regardless, it does look like some basic information is getting out on the changes that Breitling makes.

No arguments there.

I was told some time ago that the actual changes were also dependent on the specific ebauche. The way that it was described to me were that some parts were replaced as a matter of course (mainspring referenced here it would seem) while others were tested to tighter tolerances than ETA and were replaced if they failed those tests.
