If you like that IWC, you should check out the Bremont Supermarine. Very cool watch.

A bit of info and a pic:

"Bremont has announced the launch of their first marine watch – the Supermarine 500. Following on from the success that the company has had with its aviation watches Nick and Giles English wanted to build an “amphibious watch” that was both classical in its design and aviation roots but very effective as a diving watch.

The design of the Supermarine has been built using Bremont‟s unique Trip-Tick three piece case construction which gives it a water resistance depth of 500m or 1660ft, but keeps the classic curved profile of the 42mm case design which is so distinctive to Bremont. An elegant crown protector has been built onto the side of the inner barrel, and following on from other Bremont models the watch case has been specially treated for strength using Bremont‟s B-EBE2000 technology. As with all Bremont watches the Supermarine is Swiss Made at the Bremont atelier in Biel-Bienne and houses a modified BE-36A automatic chronometer movement.

Extensive testing in the UK by Bremont on this and other new models at its test facility has led to the design and construction of an „Anti-Shock‟ movement mount to help protect the movement against large shocks. The movement is also housed inside an Anti-Magnetic faraday cage to protect the balance, balance spring and escapement from any effects of magnetisation.

For clarity the bezel is being made of sapphire which covers the Superluminova C5 numbers, and the sapphire crystal covering the dial will be coated on both sides with Bremont‟s usual 9 layers of anti reflective coating."

RJRJRJ thanks for bringing this up. That is one gorgeous watch. Indeed it appeals to me in what I look for in a diver. This is the first time I hear of this brand though. I better do some research. How much for this specific model? Maybe something to consider after the Navi...

I wonder if they have AD here in Calgary or in Canada. I travel between Calgary, Toronto and Montreal pretty often...best deals are in Calgary though...only federal tax :cheer:

Cool, Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear wears a Bremont. I always wondered what his watch was. Now I know. Learned something new today

Dude, I am a Top Gear geek also...love that show and the dry sarcastic humor...very entertaining.

James May has an IWC Portuguese...could it be that one?

Jeremy Clarkson has a few decent watches, but I've never seen him with anything really high-end on. He sometimes wears a PO for example.

James May is a real watch fan by all accounts, but then he's a nutter for anything mechanical. It's odd how a love of cars and a love of watches often go hand in hand.

Check out their website - they seem to have a rather small distribution network. This was a problem for me as I needed to see a watch in the metal from a brand that is relatively unknown to me - even though I researched it a while back. I could order one sight unseen, but at more than $5K, that makes me a wee bit nervous.

That Bremont is sick!!!!! WOW!

Regarding the Navi...the standard Navi is my everyday watch and man, i fall in love with it each day all over again. It really is a head turner, and not in that pretentious Rolex kind of way. As a whole, for the price I dont think you can go wrong, plus....you have the benefit of your SO for the evenings and weekends. That is the model I took, and couldnt be happier. With two watches, a casual and a dress/sport, you really get to spend time with both of your loves regularly. We dont want to neglect them now do we?

I get regular visits from case workers with Watch Protective Services for this very issue.

Wow, I was wondering how much they were, and while they're nice watches, I can think of plenty of other watches to drop $5k on. I do like the Supermarine though, I actually kinda like the look of it more than the IWC. Their Pilot's watches are pretty nice looking also.

I had the same opinion of them before I saw one in the flesh. My AD here is a dealer for them, and they are better in the flesh. The case is multicolored, multi-piece, and has an amazing shape. Fit/finish is top notch as well. Just a really, really nice watch. They had a different model with a display back, and the movement is decorated beautifully, and has a really cool propeller as the rotor. If the Supermarine had that DB I would have bought it on the spot.

@ Sharkman: If you need a referral, I can get you a great deal on them.

At 5 large, you could still save a ton by going with this over the DSSD. Hell...this even looks better, and more unique

Between the divers I would also suggest the Omega Seamaster Pro Chronograph....very nice and more affordable than the IWC if price is an issue. This piece has all the bells and whistles such as the chronograph functions, seconds hand, hour totalizer, minute totalizer, seconds subdial, date window, unidirectional bezel, and helium escape valve. The lumes are pretty impressive at night and the bracelet has the built in wet suit extension as well. The bezel diameter is 41.5 mm, 44 mm lug to lug, 16.5mm thick to the top of the crystal, and weighs in at an impressive 200 grams. I've included a few shots of the one in my humble collection.

Yup, completely agree with you. I would need to see it in person before spending that amount of money. I went on their website and researched the brand a bit more...they are sick to quote another member on this forum however no AD in Canada.

Most def a brand to look at in the future...
