I have been lusting after the new Egiziano for a while, a friend lent me his for me to test drive before I commit, unfortunately at 60MM it is way too large, even for my 8 inch wrists!

But I did get a wrist shot for you guys, if just for laughs!

Beautiful peice and all.... but that thing is just too big. It's comically large really.

It just looks Big for Big's sake, ya know?

I know someone who has one of the originals, and it is absolutely huge. This does get into the realms of too big in my opinion, but a great heritage piece.

60mm?

That's going a bit overboard.

Next we'll be wearing wall clocks around our wrists or necks.....

I never thought I'd say this, but... that's definitely too large.

Does it look the same on your friend, or does he have much bigger forearms?

<takes a bow>

I'll be here all week.

I've tried on the UBoat at 55mm and it didn't look too bad on me, but I thought it was too big for everyday wear. I'd own it in a second if it were available on a bracelet. I couldn't imagine owning a 60mm piece.

:yeahthat Sure I know the heritage behind the "Big E", and it's a great looking piece, but it's an absolutely ludicrous size. It's not even a weekend watch : it's a never wear at all watch! Chop a cm off it and it might be just about wearable. That completely and utterly fails my "lug-overhanging-the-sides-of-the-wrist-which-makes-it-look-really-stoooopid" test.

Well, it wasn't really meant to be worn directly on the wrist from the beginning, was it?

too bad eh brian? i know youre a bracelet guy. have you looked into some of the TW steel stuff?? they have big diameter sizes and they seem like a good watch for an everyday casual wearer.

That makes your 8' wrist look like a french fry, I couldn't imagine it on a 6.75 7' wrist, that would look like q-tip wearing a watch.

Holy cow, Altair! From pics previously posted, you don't seem to have the smallest wrist going around, so that thing must be massive.

I believe it was that large so as to fit over the outside of the wrist of the old 1940/50's diver's suits, and to also still be legible when you're wearing a whopping great big brass diving helmet. And I'm sure it looked absolutely excellent in just such a situation.....

However I'm also 100% convinced it looks ANYTHING BUT excellent when worn directly on ANY human wrist! :lol:
