I do this all the time now. I stopped commenting about it to my wife because all I get in return is a strange look.

I also do it a lot watching movies, I was watching Thunderball the other day and I'm pretty sure that one of the pilots, the dude who stole the plane, was wearing a Navi and Bond's watch/Geiger-counter was a Doxa.

It's not a bad habit. I check out peoples' watches. And what, your girlfriend doesn't notice when some chick has the Louis Vitton purse she's been craving?

:yeahthat

I promise if you use that argument though, you will get the response of "It's not the same thing!" :nono: :huh

It's exactly the same thing!

(And I say that as a girl. With quite a collection of purses. :P Sure, you could get a cheaper one that the "untrained eye" might not be able to distinguish from the higher quality model, and the finer details may only be noticeable to those of us who care to notice, but since we're the ones wearing it and it makes us happy to look at it...)

I've done it so long, my wife does it now.

I don't think of timepieces as a status symbols. I appreciate the craftsmanship of a timepiece. If someone asks me about what is on my wrist, I tell them. It usually leads to the dreaded question I hate. "How much does it cost?"

I'm afraid we're all cursed with "roving eyes." I'm in my mid-sixties, still check out the wrist of any guy who's wearing an interesting piece. My lady friend just shakes her head and rolls her eyes. I actually thinks she would prefer it if I was checking out another woman. At least that would be "normal."

Just ask them how much their house costs, not that they are related but neither are of any concern to the other person... I do hate the costing questions about anything I own...
