Looks like a Landeron for sure.

Check this out.

Translation:

Breitling found to the still present movements 178 Venus of the 50s
some cases 18 carat rose gold from the same period and could
finish this results in a small series of 50 according to the attached figure.
For the German market we have total 10 items available.

The net price is DM 4800, - + VAT - 3% cash discount for payment within 8 days. Supply only against firm order.

The few pieces will be soon sold out and we advise of prompt disposition.

The cases all appear to be the same but with different engraving on the back.

It would be good to have a date on the letter. That watch matches the images I took from the eBay auction a while back (above). Surely, that moonphase doesn't have a Venus 178 movement in it. And, how interesting that 1Tuna's paperwork says 279 examples in the Serie Limitee and the Trautmann letter says 50 (but that caseback is plain). I can understand multiple releases but the variety is getting weird.

I think the Venus 178 with the moonphase/date complication becomes a Venus 190 or 195.

My records have 178 becoming a 184 with a moonphase and 190 with moonphase and split second chrono.

A load of these are coming up in a German auction soon.

http://www.uhren-muser.de/img.php3?161&filter=breitling
http://www.uhren-muser.de/img.php3?157&filter=breitling

They seem have have mislabeled this one as 1969
http://www.uhren-muser.de/img.php3?173&filter=breitling

It has an estimate of $19000-$27000

Whereas the supposed real deal:

is $8-11k?

According to my info the 799 should have a calender and be a venus 187?
