I have recently been given Avenger Chronograph with the UTC band. I am having a hard time figuring out what the 3 dials on the face represent. Also on the UTC band what does it do? and how do i correctly set it? The hands don't seem to move. Can someone help?

The Avenger has three subdials, the one at 9 o'clock is the running seconds, the one at 12 is the chronograph minutes and the one at 6 is the chronograph hours. The 6 and 12 subdials are activated by starting the chronograph by pressing the top pusher. The central seconds hand will start and then the minute and hour counter will start recording elapsed time. Stop the chronograph by pressing the top pusher again and then the bottom pusher to reset.

The UTC is a separate watch designed to act as a second time zone and is set with the crown. That said, the UTC was never sold with the Avenger (it was discontinued some years ago), so you may have a fake. Post some photos and we'll soon tell you.

Chronograph subdials are usually running seconds, a minute totalizer, and an hour totalizer.

The UTC does what the names suggests, it can be used to display Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coordinated_Universal_Time?wasRedirected=true

If it's not running, you'll need to replace the battery.

I had it authenticated at Torneau watch dealer here in Georgia but you never know. Any help would be great. Thanks for the info on the dials. Being a breitling beginner i dont know the operations or functions of the watch. Is the UTC band run on a seperate battery? Does the main watch have battery (sorry for the dumb question)? or is it run on kinetics? How long should i expect the battery to last?

The main watch has an automatic mechanical movement, ETA 7750 based which can be wound off the crown and has a weighted rotor just behind the case back which winds the watch from wrist movement, hence 'automatic'. Its all mechanical and uses a spring to store energy, unlike something like a Seiko kinetic

The UTC is quartz

"Chronograph" means "stop watch." The "crown" is the big knob that sticks out so you can set the time.

+1000. Just because a place is an AD does not mean everyone there knows anything. An independent Breitling specialist/watchmaker would probably be able to tell better.

Still, these forums are your best bet. The knowledge floating around these parts is incredible.
