Life is good, we're all lucky people to be here to talk about watches which is something I assume that we all get a lot of enjoyment out if. We're fortunate people!

NOW....I did go to my AD today...and tried on both the CY and IWC 3717. I LOVED both, but I give the edge to the IWC. The only thing that I didn't like about the CY was the chrome numbers which were difficult to see in bright light. I would have much prefered the numbers to be yellow, or white, or a matte finish. Aside from that the CY is AWESOME. Now onto the 3717; it's stoooooopid hot. It looks like a plane's altimeter; the finish on it is just stunning. I wish it was 44mm but I can live with the 42mm. Leaning towards the 3717 for now.

Do it. I'm not a fan of the chromed arabics that are on the Avenger now. Much preferred the white ones.

Sergio...sounds like you really like the IWC...go get it!! I am sure a used code yellow will show up in the sales forum here in the months to come anyways.

Well I assumed that since you mentioned the prices of both, that cost was an influencing factor. I was merely saying that if it were up to me, I would disregard price since both deals were good.

That being said, id probably take the code yellow if price was of no concern.

If I didn't go buck wild last month with a GMT II and a PAM 312 I would buy both!!!!

No cause for regret there, I would choose both of those over the 3717 or the CY, even though they're great pieces.

Thanks for all the input guys, I'm going with the IWC. I just reached out to John from Dangerous 9 straps and he's going to make me a 21/18mm tapered chocolate brown IWC pilot strap with rivets. Now I'm totally pumped....and the price was fantastic for a 3 week old watch purchased from a well known AD in the city of brotherly love. CYs will eventually turn up used and then I'll think about one but for now I'm holding off.

If size were not an issue then I would say get the IWC, but how are you going to feel about a 42mm watch in a few months? You know what you are getting with the Code Yellow, and have been wanting it for a few months.

Ask yourself this...was the 3717 on your list before this opportunity came up?

I had that same concern when I bucked and plunged into my IWC 7 Day. As Sharkman said, it wears much bigger and I dont mind at all. I wouldnt go any smaller in size but this one works fine. I have it one today! :D

Both nice watches but I'd choose the IWC.

iWC deal fell through....totally bummed now. The watch had a gouge in it in the 11 o'clock lug. Oh well, Im glad the seller was upfront about it, he was a pleasure to work it...even though we couldn't complete the deal.

That's a shame, but it explains the price.

My 3717 had a ding on the very same lug. I suspect because of the shape it is prone to being whacked on doorways in that spot (in my case it was the sliding glass doors of the office building I worked in at the time).
