I tend to think about the Navitimer and the Chronomat the "anchors" of the Breitling history. Certainly, I realize the popularity of the SuperAvenger, Steelfish, etc. With that said, given the completely different look of the Navitimer and the "chucky" Breitling lines such as the Chronomate...what look do most of you favor?

If I was only able to keep 1 breitling it would have to be in the Navitimer line. It's a classic timeless design and screams Breitling. No brainer for me.

Avengers for me. Saw in a catalogue many years ago and it was the first swiss made watch that I bought.
Now I own 3 avengers :)

I agree with the Navitimer. My first Swiss watch was a Breitling and my first Ling was a Navitimer. That coupled with the iconic design of the Navi makes it a no brainer for me. When I think Breitling, I think Navitimer.

I think that it would be Navitimer for me as well - it's the image that persists from the original Breitling to the modern company. The Chronomat name has a longer history, but I can't reconcile the modern watch with the original one.

Hi All!

Navitimer All The Way!

(Todays Chronomat Is Just A Brand Name - The Datora In The Navitimer Range Is Truer To The Original Chronomat!)

Best Regards,

Enezdez

Being quite new to Breitling and generally unfamiliar with the history until I got on this site, roots aren't as meaningful to me. I'm just another Johnny Come Lately.

I did have a Navi for a while and wanted to love it, but in the end it just wasn't for me. I traded it in with another watch for a Zenith Chronomaster.

It's just one of those things - it's the classic model in my favorite brand, I'm supposed to love it, but I just don't. On the other hand if the World wasn't just a bit too large for my wrist, I would likely have the sliver dial.
