[whispering] Shhhhh.....don't tell the Admin

Should we all chip in and buy him a Flying B as a congratulatory gift when the site reaches 1000 registered users?

Great idea. However, even if we are 1000 registered users a minor part of us are active. I guess the chip would then be rather large... :)

Another way of solving it is that number 1000 gets to buy the gift himself. :)

I think Admin should buy us all a gift (a Bentley 6.75 each should do) for making this forum such a wonderful, laid-back, fun-yet-informative and generally all round excellent place to be!! Thoughts?

If I might alter that wishlist, I'd opt for one of those "supposed-to-come-soon" large Chronomats, preferably with a red dial and roman numerals.

Seriously...some people are just so hard to please ;)

I for one would graciously accept my free Bentley 6.75. I think that's a wonderful idea.

And I second the comments about the quality of this forum. It is well-run, friendly, and informative.

I was thinking about the 1,000 user mark the other day. It's a remarkable achievement that in little over a year Admin has managed to create this wonderful environment that encourages all of us to spend way too much time on here.

1,000 users, 16,000 posts and untold new friends united by a common disease.

Not sure what kind of tangible reward we can provide (though I'll happily spring for the beer if Admin is still headed for Toronto soon), but you're a good man Admin!

Thanks guys! Yeah.. I'm pretty stoked for the 1000 user mark.. unfortuantely I couldn't make it to Toronto because I am in the process of selling my home right now.. a somewhat earlier than expected thing.

I am probably going to do a small raffle (very small) when we hit the 1000 user mark or shortly thereafter.. for some kind of promotional kind of item or something... dunno what yet since I don't really have a whole lot of that kind of stuff.. I'll think of something. I have one Breitling mousepad left.

A healthy milestone, honorably achieved (as in you didnt need a NSFW section to get there :) ) Congratulations Mr. Admin sir. Its a pleasure to be one in a thousand.

I'm thinking that the prize should be a certain Breitling watch display........

But that's just because I want it

HAH! MY DISPLAY! :P

I like it.. I haven't really put it anywhere yet except in my office, but I want to display it somewhere nicer in my new house.

I won't be picky, but I'll accept donations for a Super Avenger.

Like the sign I used to keep in my office by Will Rogers.

Well as number 1000 I am glad this idea did not get any further support. :D

I will say congratulations Admin for a fanastic site which will continue to draw more thousands to come!

(And if you find yourself in Auckland, New Zealand, I will be glad to buy you a beer!)
