I attempted to take some photos tonight and realised, yet again, how woeful I currently am with a camera. I'll do some more work over the next few days and hopefully provide something presentable, obligatory wrist shot included of course

Despite some shipping issues which, to their credit, Steinhart attempted to rectify, I managed to collect my Mark II tonight, for which I was naturally very excited! The packaging and case were of much higher quality than I expected and were the perfect start to the unwrapping process. The watch was well presented in the case I thought with a clever pouch for the paperwork. Having the watch centred between the spring bar tool and extra strap also worked well. I'm very very happy with the watch itself. Along with being the perfect size for me it has presence; it's solid and heavy and the combination brushed/polished elements of the watch case and bezel work very well together. The black dial contrasts well with the white arabics and, as sharkman indicated, the red on the seconds and chrono sweep hand look fabulous! The matte subs at 12 and 6 do contrast well and the overall symmetry of the dial is clear with the day-date wheel balanced by the seconds sub dial.

The bracelet is okay, without being brilliant, definitely of lower quality than the Breitlings but at the price point, more than fine. As with sharkman, I've found the half links don't suit me either as I've found the bracelet is either too snug or loose depending on the adjustment. I'm sure I'll get used to it though

Overall I think the quality is phenomenal for the price point. The watch is much much more than I expected, which is a pleasant surprise, and well worth the wait. I love it! Thanks again to Altair, you've really outdone yourself with this one

Nice one Tim! Glad it all turned out well in the end. Looking forward to those wrist shots.

I'm feeling a bit left out now, having decided not to jump on this LE. :?

Me 2. I felt this way on the first one too. However, after seeing the results I really didnt care for it like I thought I would. This one looks like a lot better quality.

Congrats Tim, you've been waiting a while for this one so it must feel good to have it on your wrist. Looking forward to the pics.

Thanks Driver. I'm very very happy with the Mark II. I've been wearing it for two days now and find myself gazing out it quite regularly. Great quality really, especially for the cost.

I know how you feel and respect your stand, especially considering your in-house focus moving forward. I bet your collection is going to look pretty damn good in a year or two!

I've had the Mark II on my wrist now for a couple of days and have to say that my appreciation for this piece has not changed one little bit. It's keeping great time and is a watch I just want to look at.

I've taken a few pics (to the best of my ability) which I hope you all enjoy. I'll be looking to change the band for straps over the next few days just to mix it up.
In the box. A nice arrangement in my opinion:

That first wrist shot is the best representation of the dial I've seen. And I wore mine again today. But it's a strap for me until the cooler weather hits - then I'm quietly hopeful the bracelet will be a perfect fit.

I've already picked up a couple nicks on the polished bezel, but the design is such that it is easy and quick tofirmly hit up with a Sunshine clothe without risking the crystal or brushed parts.

Thanks sharkman, I appreciate any compliments regarding my photography. Glad you liked the shot.

Both my Breitling and Steinheart go on straps tonight. It's time to mix it up a little. I have to say that after wearing the bracelet for 2 days, despite it not being a perfect fit, it really is alright. I hope you find the same result.

Really, I think it is a fine bracelet as MOST bracelets go. And I like that it doesn't taper at all. Clasp is nice and all that. Just my usual peeve with 1/2 link adjustable bracelets, which seem to be most bracelets.

If I could design the perfect bracelet - it would have the clasp adjustment like Breitlings AND a half link.

As it is, the Breitlings are the best adjustable next to the inexpensive Boshcett Cave Dweller with the ratcheted extension.

Thanks for the pics Tim - nothing wrong with photography. I hope to get some shots this weekend and post.

I want to see actual photos on my own wrist since I'm debating whether the size of this watch is right for me. After three days it is still running spot on, impressed with it's accuracy so far.

Enjoy and quit staring at it so much!
