Well, the Breitling Hercules seems to hold up to most and seems to be pretty resistant to dings/dents etc...

Well, I had a Hamilton Below Zero - http://www.hamiltonwatch.com/webapp/en- ... =128&p=371

Don't know what to say other than I could beat the hell out of that watch and it never missed a beat and never scratched (the rubber band/strap was great - but the metal band was terrible - however, the case never got scratched).

Diving in the ocean, the pool, the lakes, camping, fires, sand, sweat, whatever....it took a beating and never failed me. I only got rid of it because my collection was becoming too large and I'd like the new SuperOcean - but still - a damn fine watch.

My only complaint was that the numbers were not luminous at all in low-light conditions.

On the Breitling side (as this is a Breitling site!), I'd say the most tank-like watch in the range is the Seawolf. After all, you can't make a make a watch water resistant to 3000m by making it lightly built!

However if we're talking luxury watches in general (and not just Breitling) then there's only one possible contender to my mind - the Omega Ploprof 1200.

As I'm sure you know, the design is pretty much the same as it was when it was first introduced in the '70's, and back then it was purely a professional diver's tool. It was one watch whereby function took TOTAL precidence over form, and that function was to keep the watch working at all costs in the most hostile underwater environments on Earth. The new version is simply a bigger and stronger version of the original - hence it still has the most protecting crown protector of any watch I've come across, plus the fact it's on the left hand side so as the majority of the worlds population wear watches on their left wrists, the crown is protected even further. The bezel insert is sapphire crystal so it's as scratch resistant as possible, and the whole case looks and feels like it's made from solid steel girders. Hell, even the clasp is thicker than many entire watches! IMO the Ploprof is the most manly-looking, hairy-chested, toughest luxury watch in the world.

You should quit your job and sell these Driver your passion is unmistakeable :poke:

Do you have yours yet?

I know, I probably should start selling them!

Funnily enough, one of the AD's I use was actually advertising for sales staff a couple of weeks ago, and if it wasn't for my HUGE mortgage and playboy lifestyle (OK, just my huge mortgage!) I'd have been tempted to apply!

Oh and no, I STILL haven't picked mine Ploprof up yet. And I won't be able to this weekend either as I'm at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. If I don't pick the darn thing up soon it'll probably need a service straight away due to the oils congealing!

A lot of big watches are tough looking but are they really tough? Good question. The toughest watch I ever owned was a Citizen eco diver. I beat the crap out of that watch and dove with it as well with no problem. If I could find it , it is still probably still running. Best lume of any watch I ever owned as well.
