Hi all,
I just put in an order at my local AD (La Swiss Toronto) for the new Avenger seawolf chrono blacksteel limited edition. This is my first Breitling purchase and I don't think that I have ever been more excited in my life! They said that they had to order it from Switzerland and that it would take approx 8 weeks until they would recieve it. Very dissapointing but I'm sure it will be worth the wait. Does anyone know, is that the average wait time? It seems a little long to me... Also, has anyone seen this model yet in Canada?

I decided to go with the diver pro strap with regular clasp (not folding). I couldn't justify the extra $700 for a folding clasp. The manager at the store has been great to deal with, plus they gave me 25% off! I'm very happy with that as it is a limited edition model and does have to be ordered in, which usually means a low discount.

I have one worry about the watch. I know the DLC coating is strong and scratch resistant but I also know that once it is damaged, it cannot be repaired. I do plan on wearing it as a daily watch (having it off my wrist as little as possible). Does anybody have any experience with the DLC coating? How strong is it? The scratches won't bother me that much, it will just give it more character. But of course, I would prefer to avoid it.

Hopefully I will hear back sooner, would be a great surprise! I will post pics And a short review when I finally get my hands on it.

All replies are appreciated!

I don't know much about the DLC coating (would be interested in the answers to your questions as well), but I wanted to welcome you to the forum and wish you luck with your purchase!

I have been kicking around the idea of getting the same watch. I like the ASC, but I prefer polished finishes to the brushed finish it has (and I already have a Steelfish, which is brushed). I also want to get a DLC watch at some point. So the ASCBS scratches both of those itches. Be sure to post lots of pictures!

That's actually pretty quick if there are no watches at the Canadian distributor - especially as Breitling in Switzerland shuts down for several weeks in the summer.

DLC is tough but it can certainly get damaged with knocks (more a 'resjaping' of the metal that causes the steel to show through) and it will wear sligthly on the edges over time.

Congrats on a great purchase. I have seen the watch you a talking about at a few AD's actually. As far as the Blacksteel, it is awesome. :D I have a Super Avenger Blacksteel, and have had NO issues at all with regards to scratching. As a matter of fact, it's tougher than SS. Mine sits next to my SS Hercules in my watch-winder, and sometimes they "bump". :( When I pull them out, the Hercules has rub marks which I buff out, and there is NOTHING on the SA Blacksteel case! :lingsrock:

So I'm sure you will get lots of good wear on it. Wear it in good health.
