I'm ready to jump into the world of rose gold..all of my watches are stainless but i've become a fan of rose gold. Does anyone have recommendations on rose gold pieces? I like the look of rose gold with black faces and black bands. Trying to stay around $8,000, I know that might be tough but hopefully there is one out there for me. Also, I'd like for it to be my first manual wind watch.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

JLC makes some very nice dress watches in Rose, the Radiomirs and Breitlings in rose are very nice as well. But my all time favorites have to be the IWC Portuegues in rose, but those are expensive and way beyond your price point.

All I can say is make sure you like the watch and intend to wear it for years to come, Rose gold watches are not easy to unload as steel!

100% in agreement! :D

There is a used black one on Chrono24 at $9,500 so a fair bit over budget.

However, I prefer the white one myself and this one is brand new and IS under $8000 :D

If I wasn't totally broke, I'd be SO tempted!

I'd like something with a slightly larger bezel than the IWC. Any photos of JLCs? I have way too many Breitlings so they're out of consideration for now.

The IWC Portuguese is a great watch. There were just two of these (one black dial, one white dial) that went for $7900 and $7100 on eBay, respectively.

I would suggest a Glaschuette Original Senator. The simpler variants of this watch are within your budget constraints if you are willing to buy pre-owned.

You can also buy a new Dornblueth in RG in your price range. Actually, I really like that for Dornblueth you pay a reasonable markup for the gold case. With most brands you pay far far more than what the gold in the case is worth.

That's not an $8,000 watch though, at least not in gold.

I'm not an expert but I believe that there are different types of rose gold that have different hues and also different degrees of resilience / stability (rose gold can fade over time), so bear that in mind too.

I can't think of too many major name manual wind gold watches for $8,000. If we can stretch the budget a bit there'll be more options.

I have also looked at some RG pieces to add. Like most said, I think stretching your budget just a little would drastically increase your options. Here are the two I have been keeping an eye out for. They are a little over your budget, but it's just money, right ;)

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Black Dial w/ Black Croc on Deployant - A bit small for my taste but is honestly one of the best looking watches I've ever seen in the flesh. It's a great dress watch with a little more 'edge' than the traditional round dial/case classic.

Hublot Big Bang RG Black Dial with Black Ceramic Bezel - I had the SS version but I grew old of it rather quickly. Now I've added this to back to my list!

Breguet is out of my range but that's the style I am interested in. I would consider that piece pre-owned if the price was right and I'd be willing to stretch a bit. Tough call.

That is definitely over $8,000. I owned that watch last year in stainless and I loved it....sold it back to my AD but I may consider buying it back as he still has it. What I love about that watch is it has a 2nd time zone, full chrono functions, and date wheel...and they're all fairly easy to read especially for a skeleton face.

Uhm I just noticed this thread - have ya lost your ever-loving mind, Serg?? :D

I think that Breguet you show is a Type XX Transatlantique. It's only 39.5MM and probably at least $15K. But then I'm just guessing - except about the mind losing thing.

I think its an XXI flyback--retail around $20k.
