... my local AD is no longer going to be carrying Breitling. They are closing out all of their stock at 30% Discount but they will remain an authorised repair facility and all factory warranties will be in tact.

They have 1 silver SO Steelfish available in the company and are having it shipped in to my local store for me to view.

The watch is a 2009 with the pro2 bracelet. MSRP is $2945 and the SALE price is $2061.

Is this a good deal? or can a better deal be had elsewhere?

I have been trying to find a Silver Steelfish Used to maximize my $$ but to no avail...

Please help... Should I pull the trigger on the new one or hold out for a quality used piece?

TIA,
-Scott

Good deal, although not a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. You'd probably be able get a similar deal from some other dealers, but by no means everywhere.

If it were me, I'd go with the new one from the AD. I kind of like (a) being the one to peel off the stickers when it's brand new and flawless :D and (b) having the personal contact with the AD in case in needs regulating or anything else goes wrong.

Get the new one!

You'll have the pleasure of knowing that you are the only one who's owned it, full Breitling warranty, PLUS... from what i hear, you'll get a great Breitling cap!

Seriously, sounds like you're getting the watch you want for gray market price, but from an AD!

(The SO Steelfish will probably be the 2nd Breitling I get, when the time comes! Really love it!)

Post photos when/if you decide to get it!

Good luck!

Shel

New one. Especially if your first. The experience is worth the few extra bucks. Darn good price on that too. :lingsrock:

Another vote for buying new.

For your first it's definitely worth the peace of mind, and 30% is good discount. (If you were UK based 30% would be an almost unheard of discount!)

New for me too.

Aside from anything else you have peace of mind that the watch soesn't have an 'interesting' history and a full 2 year warranty. The price will be forgotten long before the watch stope providing pleaseure, and the cost differential isn't going to be huge between new and used.

Always new, only from an AD. For the peace of mind, for the great experience. Especially for the price you wrote.

BTW, there's no many silver Steelfishes for sale, mostly because it's the least popular dial choice generally in the Aeromarine range. So no many is sold new, then no many is sold 2nd hand.
