Can someone tell me how the date adjustment on the B01 differs (if at all) from the Chronomat Evolution?

I cant seem to find any information on this, but the specs for the B01 refer to an Instantaneous Date feature.

Most Breitling movements, including the regular Chronomat have a date change movement that begins to operate at about 9pm and completes at around 2am. That means that the quick set date should not be used between 8pm and 3am and you should not wind time backwards in that window either because of the risk of damage to the date change mechanism. Visually you see the date begin to change soon after 11pm and it completes generally within an hour - it may be a few minutes either side of midnight.

The B01 and some other movements have a date change mechanism that only engages at the time that the date actually changes - generally within a minute or so of midnight and there is no restriction on when the quick set date can be used.

To my knowledge, it's called instant date-change calendar and it can be adjusted at any time, with no risk of damaging the movement.

Does this feature on this watch - make it a safer watch in terms of date changing and not damaging your watch ie. the 8pm-3am issue?

Yeah, but it only matters if the owner doesn't follow the guidelines. If you use the date change properly then it is absolutely irrelevant, it's just a less restrictive use on a movement like the B01, Cockpit, Blackbird and 6.75.

Is it possible to break the instant date feature on a BO1?

It's a mechanical watch - it can break just like any other part of the watch - you just won't break it using the quickset date between 8pm and 3am.

I think this answers the question that arose as I read this thread, but - - -I've noticed the big date feature on my Cockpit changes faster than I can see - at least with blurry midnight eyes.
On the other hand, the big date on my Blackbird changes just like my other Breitlings.

Anyone know what the difference is between these 2 big date mechanisms? Am I correct the BB should not be date adjusted between 8-2 but the Cockpit may?

As far as I am aware the BB should be safe between 8pm and 3am as well. Are you saying that the bB date change takes 30mins plus?????

My BB starts to change about 20 minutes to midnight and finishes about 5 after midnight. Whereas my Cockpit changes so quickly at midnight it's like a digital display change.

Hmmm

Need to research, I thought the 44 was an instant change - base movement is no help as it's the modular 2892.
