Exactly my point. If you can say that all (or 99%) of your daily activities could be done with your "everyday watch" than it's a good "everyday watch". I bought my first Steelfish for exactly the purpose of WEARING IT! :) The others in the collection are for keeping nice and shiney or less dinged around.

I totally agree with you. In my case I bought a Breitling (BB) to wear it. I may not own another nice/ Brietling watch, hopefully I can, but after many years wanting a first rate watch I am not afraid to, for the most part, to hazard day to day wear. I do not plan on ever selling the BB, I do plan on passing the watch on to my son, so daily wear just adds to the personalization of my watch.

My one story of a man I knew is that he received a Rolex Submariner while he served in Vietnam (from the Govt) as a Underwater Demolition Tech, had the watch after many years later that showed the signs of wear, was a like a testament of his achievements. That has stuck with me. So, I am not talking careless abuse, but normal everyday use of a well loved timepeice is a thing a thing of pride in my book.

My 2 cents

I feel the same way about the Steelfish. I can wear it with a dark suit and white dress shirt, or jeans and a T-shirt. Indeed I did both today, black suit/white button down shirt, blue dial SF on Pro II for a work day that included a long luncheon with a candidate for Governor and some other assorted politicos - and an evening in a white, ratty T-shirt and equally ratty jeans. And the watch fit both "occasions" perfectly.

I've said it before and maybe I'm just gushing from too much coffee today but for the price (around $1900 NEW) you can 't beat the Steelfish.

I like the look of the BlackBird with the high polished Bezel...its stunning ! But I suppose it would tend to show scratches much more then the Brushed Steel version and it makes no sense to get a BB unless you plan to wear it as an everyday watch. Its a wear me watch... not a keep it in the box like a piece of art and save me for special occasions. Also, I don't think you can go wrong with the very versatile SuperOcean Heritage... on Ocean Racer rubber your good for work or play... on the Steel Mesh you could wear it with a Tux ( especially 125th LE ), should try one on...lays niiiice on the wrist !

No doubt - I find the SOH46 and SOHC to comfortably hug the wrist better than any of my other Breitlings. Especially the SOH46.

As for the BB, I have yet to suffer a scratch on the bezel, or case for that matter. Knock on polished SS.

Yeah but would you wear those watches while swimming, fishing, hunting, wood turning, working on the vehicle, building a shed, yard work and any other thing you can think of? ....I do, with my Steelfish. :)

I do neither of those thing daily, but I do have all my watches as every day watches. If I oddly find myself in a watch-hazardous situation I just take it off for a few minutes, then back on. The only exception from this is probably my Zenith LE, that one isn't an every day watch for me.

I buy my watches to wear all of the time. From early in '80's hrough 1994, I was a Loadmaster on Marine Corps KC-130s. My first high end watch was a Rolex Submariner, and I wore that thing every day for four years, even at work while I was loading cargo onto the plane. I finally traded in that watch on a GMT Master II in 1989, and again, I wore that watch until I sold it in 1996. From 2000 or so, my Glycine Airman GMT was my daily watch.

I just picked up my first Breitling, a SuperOcean Heritage Chrono, and while I am no longer a Loadmaster on Marine KC-130s, I will wear this watch every chance I get -- which pretty much means every day.

At least until I get a Montbrilliant Olympus... :-) (Which I will wear as often as possible...)

Hi All!

At the present time I wear all my watches pretty much as a daily wearer. However, I reserve the 1461/52 mostly for button down shirts or tie & suit (rarely suit). The 50th Anniv Navitimer I like because If I find myself in need to be dressy but I am to lazy to set the 1461/52 - it is a pain in the neck to set if it stops - then I simply wear the 50th which also looks good with jeans and a t-shirt. Nonetheless, for all intent and purposes my Seawolf is my everyday watch and I happen to be wearing it as I am typing - lol.

However, as of very recently all my watches have fallen into a rotation that every 2 or 3 days I am wearing a different 1.

Best Regards,

Enezdez

Lucky you. In about a month I will begin my annual querry - "What was I thinking when I chose a profession that requires daily suit wear, then moved to Phoenix?"

Real Sophacles Riddling Sphinx stuff.

When I first bought my first "nice" watch, a Seiko, I did not wear it much at work because it would get beat up (former active duty military pilot). Actually the cockpit of a military aircraft is a treachours place for a shiny watch. Afer one year with my Airwolf, and a polish from my AD, you could not tell the watch was a year old and worn every day. It is my opinion that Breitlings hold up better as daily wearers. Also, the crystal is for the most part unscratable.

I would not recommend pouring concrete with one though!
