Hi Guys,

Many of you may already know I love the Blackbird and hope to pull the trigger on one someday (hopefully soon)

I am however finding it hard to choose between the finishes though as I love both.

How did you blackbird owners decide which one to go for and can anyone help with the dilema?

I have seen both up close and personal and that has only confused the issue further.

I have a mix of polished and brushed watches so I can't say I haven't got a polished one so get that finish to offer a change.

The choices Breitling give us make buying so hard, wished I could have them all!!! (& looking at other threads some of you arn't far away)

Thanks

John

When my wife gave me the BB as birthday present in 2008 the polished version didn't exist yet but I (and she ) would have chosen the brushed one anyway. I don't baby my watch (I am not abusing it either though) and scratches are less obvious. But I also prefer the understated look (and it suits my personality more since I am not a flashy kind of guy :D).

However, I agree that the next watch should be different to what you already own. My next high-end watch will also offer something completely different but I am still hunting for it.

I chose the Blackbird because of its brushed look. At the time all the other B's were way to shiney for me.

As mentioned above I liked the understated look of the Blackbird, in a strange way it made it stand out more

I chose the "brushed" Blackbird for the same reasons, I like the understated look and I think it works best for that watch. An individual preference for sure. BTW mine arrives tomorrow. :D

I must also add that the appearance of the Blackbird is very much that of an aircraft cockpit indicator and the brushed steel adds to that effect IMO.

Like many above, brushed. Also, the brushed looks good with the Diver Pro II on brushed deployment!

I can't see why there would be...

Mine is a little heavier than others. Just a little bit I added to it.

My apologies if I am becoming a diamond 'same pic poster'..... you know what I mean.

I recently saw the black-eye-blue Blackbird with polished case, and tried on the black-on-black (classic) Blackbird with brushed case.

Out of those two, I'd either get the black dial brushed version with rubber strap, or the black-eye-blue polished version on Pilot bracelet. I don't really like the brushed Pilot bracelet, to me it looks weird considering every other Pilot, Navi and Speed bracelets are all polished in Breitling's lineup.

I guess I'll be the odd man out in saying POLISHED all the way! yes, it will require a little more mainenance but aI believe it's worth it. I'm not a fan of all brushed. I like all polished or a combo of the 2.

Both are awesome. Can't go wrong as long as it's on a bracelet!

Polished for me too. I wish I could find it - a thread and a pic from about a year ago where someone posted the most incredible beautiful polished BB of all times. Seriously, probably the most beautiful watch I have ever seen on this board. Yeah - polished all the way for me.

Edit: Found it.
