hello all,

its been a long time since i've been here so i hope all of you are doing well.

i just wanted to know something. I brought my superocean to my AD due to a problem i had with the crown being jammed. so they said its probably just missing a little oil, or something like that so they said they were gonna send it in. the watch just turn 1 so it was still under warrenty. this was about 6 weeks ago. i finally got it back today had to pay 35$ for shipping. checked the crown it was running smoothly again.
then i got home i checked my warrenty book and no stamp no date no evidence that the watch was really shipped to Breitling canada.

now is this normal or was i suppose to get a pretty stamp in my book.

also my watch came back wrapped in a small sheet of bubble wrap. the watch wasnt polished or anything i know it wasnt an overhaul but i expected for them to at least clean the finger prints for the 6 weeks they kept it.

hope you guys can shed some light!
thanks

I sent mine through the AD for regulation from BUSA and received a "basic service" dated stamp in my booklet.

would you think my AD went through a 3rd party, and would they be even allowed to do that?

Well, they certainly wouldn't be ALLOWED to do that, and any AD who did go outside of the official network would be insane as they would undoubtedly lose their Breitling contract if Breitling ever found out, so I would say that it's HIGHLY unlikely.......... but that's not say it couldn't happen of course! It's not beyond the realms of possibility that they made the repairs in-store rather than sending it to Breitling, but then why would they charge you for postage..... Hmmmm....

Just to confirm, I've always had a service stamp in the booklet of all mine that I've sent to BUK for a service over the years, and all my watches have returned in an official zipped Breitling service case.

What I would do if I was you, is call Breitling Canada direct and ask if they have any record of your watch's serial number being in for repairs in the last few months. Hopefully they'll tell you this information as they definitely keep these kind of records. If they DO tell you, and you find that your watch HASN'T been in to them, I'd have absolutely no qualms about dropping the AD in it. If it turned out that they're fleecing customers like that, they deserve a punishment from Breitling IMO.

Yes, there's no such thing as Breitling Canada.

I recently had a similar experience.

Returned my Chrono Evo to BUK because of intermittent stopping. Got it back in under three weeks :lingsrock: and it seems to be fully fixed. But, I got no accompanying paperwork, no stamp in the Maintenance pages of the Warranty Booklet and the watch had not been polished. Mine was returned in an official zipped Breitling service case with a cloth.

I contacted BUK and they confirmed they'd had it for service, told me what they'd done and stated that they don't provide diagnostic reports and, for repairs under warranty, the case and bracelet are not polished. Also that the International Warranty is only completed and stamped for servicing not for repairs under warranty.

I was a little surprised but I guess that's the way they do things - hope this helps.

The full thread is here.

sorry for the delay guys.

So i just got of the phone with the head office after being on hold for 28 min  due to the fact that they forgot about me!
I talked to a sweetheart, Lezley, and she informed me that my watch was sent to them and they did do all the work to fix but the polish is not included on small warrenty fixer uppers.

So she appolagized for the misconvenience and told me to go back to the AD and bring my warrenty passport and say her name and they will send the book in free of charge and all the information will be filled out and maybe might come back to me with a lil :lingsrock: goodie.

BIG thanks, for all your help once again!
