Well I had a really weird experience today that I thought I would share with you guys in this thread since it relates to magnetism. My wife and I went to the local Macaroni Grill restaurant today for lunch. While she was unfolding her napkin and removing the knife and fork within, she noticed that they were sticking together. It seemed to be the knife only that was affected in such a way. What was amazing was the strength of the magnetism as you could actually lift the fork with it and this wasn't cheap lightweight flatware either. Made by Oneida and substantial in weight.

I took the video and pic below with my Iphone for proof. :D

Now I have no earthly idea how a common restauraunt table knife becomes magnetized but clearly somewhere along the way it did indeed come in contact with a fairly substantial magnet and as such became magnetized itself. I wanted to post this because, at least IMO , it shows that we are exposed to sources of magnetism on a daily basis and may be totally unaware of it. If my wife had taken no notice of the silverware sticking together initially, she would have been none the wiser that it was indeed magnetized. Would this have been enough to magnetize a watch? I can't say but I did find it interesting and wanted to share it with you.
