Anyone own a Omega Seamaster? I'm looking at one for a vacation watch (the kind that would go in the sea/pool/sand). I know theirs a couple versions and stuff even one with James Bond written on it (i find that too tacky personally).

Any info from you guys on it??

Thanks :)

Plenty of current and former Seamaster owners here. I think they're great, very versatile and certainly a good vacation watch. The Seamaster Chrono I used to own could go anywhere and had pushers that could be used underwater.

A few will probably say they're too common, and that's fair enough I guess, but it doesn't really bother me seeing another person wearing one every now and then. The vast majority of people aren't wearing high-end watches of any sort anyway.

Agree about the James Bond LE models though, I wouldn't want one of them.

I just recently bought a 42mm Seamaster PO on a rubber strap. I really like it and its a nice compliment to my Navi. The construction is top notch and the Co-Axial movement is is very accurate. I've had it running for the past two weeks and it has lost only 15 secs, well within COSC. The case has a nice heavy feel to it and the rubber strap makes it very comfortable to wear every day. The only real decision you have to make when buying a PO is to get the 42 or 45.5mm version. Can't really complain about anything so far, I've only had it for a month now.

The PO (Planet Ocean) is great. I've had mine longer than anything else in my collection and I love it, couldn't see myself selling it for any reason (other than to get another one).

It's a newer, slightly larger Seamaster design with a depth rating of 600m (as opposed to 300m for the regular Seamaster) and a case which appears a bit rounder and less angular. The case is a beefed-up version of the Speedmaster shape. All POs have co-axial movements, whereas not all of the regular Seamasters have them.

Ah ok nice.

Does the PO have a broad arrow version? I find those arrows super sexy :)

I'll head to the Omega AD this week.

Not named as such, but they all have the broad arrow style hands. Here's mine (on a rubber strap at the time, now on a bracelet):
